By my calculations, grassroots Mormons supplied about 40% of the funding for Prop 8. They should be commended for this.

Persecution? Please!

Webster's New World Dictionary of the American Language describes persecution as:

to afflict or harass constantly so as to injure or distress; oppress cruelly, esp. for reasons of religion, politics, or race;

to trouble or annoy constantly [persecuted by mosquitoes].

While we, who oppose Mormonism, may plead guilty to annoying some Mormons by our incessant questions and research, we feel it is totally inaccurate for Latter-day Saints to say we are guilty of “harassing” them to the point of causing injury or distress. We have never “oppressed cruelly” any Mormon. Those who wish to engage in intelligent dialogue may even find we can be downright pleasant at times.

Should a person still not understand what persecution really means, please click here.

So, why all of you “real Christians” are preaching to each other and telling each other why the other one is going to hell, the Mormons are out there sticking up for and spending their money on supporting Christian values.

(Oh, of course. Mormons have 60,000 missionaries out there goin' door-to-door all because they are not there...
...to inform these residents that a full "restoration" has occurred with the Christian church -- meaning that a full apostasy took place, including EVERY Protestant, Catholic and orthodox church...
...but rather you'd have us believe that the $400 per month raised for LDS missionary support is spent merely "on supporting Christian values"

Meanwhile, you continue with your unbelievable assumptions that Christians don't spend $ on Christian values -- that all they do is preach to each other -- as if you had personal access to the timelog of every Christian! (What utter gall you have!)

So, 60,000 LDS missionaries never "preach" to these "300...Christian denominations" you reference -- but supposedly that's all "real Christians" do.

Please continue to post so we can see a more complete series of your stereotypes about Christians.

“Originally, the site named Mormon givers, but Hansen said she changed it to include only first names and last-name initials over concerns Mormons would be hate-crime targets.”

I would like to thank her for doing that.

“Members were asked to donate their “means and time” to the effort to undo a May court decision”

“pointing to extensive Mormon organizing and the staggering amount of money donated by individual Mormons”

“The site attributes $15 million in donations to Mormons, or nearly half the Yes on 8 war chest in a state where Mormons make up 2 percent of the population.”

Any group that can do this does tend to stick out of the crowd.

In just a week, many Californians and Americans are being subjected to Hate Crimes brought about by criminal gay deviates.

We don’t march and threaten gays with axes, axe handles, ball bats and other weapons, as done by Hate Filled Gays in a church as shown in the picture linked below:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2129679/posts?page=1#1

More hate crimes committed by hostile Gay deviates:

Nor do we threaten elderly gays and rip their rainbows away from them. However gays committed this hate crime against an elderly Christian woman as shown in the link below. There will be a short bumper ad before it starts:

We can boycott the corporations funding the repeal of Prop 8.

There are many corporations funding the repeal of Prop 8.
This link takes us right to the corporate sponsor page to repel Prop 8:

Boycotts can work for our side too.

“However, *while* doing that — they also seek to be perceived as “just another denomination” of Christianity — which they are not. T

hey are a cult group — something that you wouldn’t have one Christian denomination say about another Christian denomination — but you do say it about Mormon teachings and doctrines. Thus — there’s the difference. It’s simply *not Christian* teaching and doctrine.”

****

The LDS never claim to be a break off of another denomination when LDS believe that Jesus Christ himself throught Joseph Smith restored His Church once again on earth...

just remember “StarT” when the tribulation is in full bloom someday I know you will never allow yourself to knock at the gate of Zion looking for help!

I am sure for the last couple of hundred years your church has been preparing the flock to be ready!

It helps to focus!

Better ONE target than a lot.

(Sneaky way to get Evangelicals to kinda be on your side; too! ;^)

Well, there is *no image* to improve — if — they are *not teaching* basic, historic and foundational Christian doctrines and teachings from the Bible (which they clearly admit, by their “denouncing” of these doctrines) that they are not!

I've noticed...

Jude 1:3
Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

Romans 6:17
But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted.

 Romans 15:4
For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

 Romans 16:17
I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them.

1 Corinthians 4:17
For this reason I am sending to you Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church.

1 Corinthians 11:1-2
 1.  Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.
 2.  I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the teachings,  just as I passed them on to you.

Ephesians 4:14
Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.

2 Thessalonians 2:15
So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachings  we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.

2 Thessalonians 3:6
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers, to keep away from every brother who is idle and does not live according to the teaching  you received from us.

1 Timothy 1:3-4
 3.  As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain men not to teach false doctrines any longer
 4.  nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. These promote controversies rather than God's work--which is by faith.

1 Timothy 2:7
And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle--I am telling the truth, I am not lying--and a teacher of the true faith to the Gentiles.

1 Timothy 4:6
If you point these things out to the brothers, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, brought up in the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed.

 2 Timothy 1:13
What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus.

2 Timothy 2:2
And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.

Hebrews 13:8-9
 8.  Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
 9.  Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by ceremonial foods, which are of no value to those who eat them.

2 John 1:10
If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him.

Titus 2:1
You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has been tarred as a racist organization even though all barriers to full membership and participation in the church were removed 30 years ago so there probably won’t be many blacks (who supported prop 8 by a large margin) coming to the defense of the church.

Dang... who knew!!!

"You see some classes of the human family that are black, uncouth, uncomely, disagreeable and low in their habits, wild, and seemingly deprived of nearly all the blessings of the intelligence that is generally bestowed upon mankind.

The first man that committed the odious crime of killing one of his brethren will be cursed the longest of any one of the children of Adam. Cain slew his brother. Cain might have been killed, and that would have put a termination to that line of human beings.

This was not to be, and the Lord put a mark upon him, which is the flat nose and black skin. Trace mankind down to after the flood, and then another curse is pronounced upon the same race--that they should be the 'servant of servants', and they will be, until that curse is removed."

Brigham Young-President and second 'Prophet' of the Mormon Church, 1844-1877- Extract from Journal of Discourses.

Here are two examples from their 'other testament', the Book of Mormon.

2 Nephi 5: 21    'And he had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity. For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him, that they had become like unto a flint; wherefore, as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people, the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them.'

Alma 3: 6    'And the skins of the Lamanites were dark, according to the mark which was set upon their fathers, which was a curse upon them because of their transgression and their rebellion against their brethren, who consisted of Nephi, Jacob and Joseph, and Sam, who were just and holy men.'

August 27, 1954 in an address at Brigham Young University (BYU), Mormon Elder, Mark E Peterson, in speaking to a convention of teachers of religion at the college level, said:

"The discussion on civil rights, especially over the last 20 years, has drawn some very sharp lines. It has blinded the thinking of some of our own people, I believe. They have allowed their political affiliations to color their thinking to some extent.I think I have read enough to give you an idea of what the Negro is after."

"He is not just seeking the opportunity of sitting down in a cafe where white people eat. He isn't just trying to ride on the same streetcar or the same Pullman car with white people. It isn't that he just desires to go to the same theater as the white people. From this, and other interviews I have read, it appears that the Negro seeks absorption with the white race. He will not be satisfied until he achieves it by intermarriage."

"That is his objective and we must face it. We must not allow our feelings to carry us away, nor must we feel so sorry for Negroes that we will open our arms and embrace them with everything we have. Remember the little statement that we used to say about sin, 'First we pity, then endure, then embrace'...."

(Rosa Parks would have probably told Petersen under which wheel of the bus he should go sit.)

1967, (then) Mormon President Ezra Taft Benson said,

"The Communist program for revolution in America has been in progress for many years and is far advanced. First of all, we must not place the blame upon Negroes. They are merely the unfortunate group that has been selected by professional Communist agitators to be used as the primary source of cannon fodder."

We are told that on June 8, 1978, it was 'revealed' to the then president, Spencer Kimball, that people of color could now gain entry into the priesthood.

According to the church, Kimball spent many long hours petitioning God, begging him to give worthy black people the priesthood. God finally relented.

Sometime before the 'revelation' came to chief 'Prophet' Spencer Kimball in June 1978, General Authority, Bruce R McConkie had said:

"The Blacks are denied the Priesthood; under no circumstances can they hold this delegation of authority from the Almighty.

The Negroes are not equal with other races where the receipt of certain blessings are concerned, particularly the priesthood and the temple blessings that flow there from, but this inequality is not of man's origin, it is the Lord's doings."

(Mormon Doctrine, pp. 526-527).

When Mormon 'Apostle' Mark E Petersen spoke on 'Race Problems- As they affect the Church' at the BYU campus in 1954, the following was also said:

"...if the negro accepts the gospel with real, sincere faith, and is really converted, to give him the blessings of baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost, he can and will enter the celestial kingdom. He will go there as a servant, but he will get celestial glory."

When Mormon 'Prophet' and second President of the Church, Brigham Young, spoke in 1863 the following was also said:

"Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God is death on the spot. This will always be so."

(Journal of Discourses, Vo. 10, p. 110)

Christians, regardless of denomination, do themselves no favors with their silly ill-mannered warm lemonade contests. I don't know about the rest of you folks, but I am heartily sick of it.

MORMONs are NOT a 'denomination' of Christianity.

MORMON publications have said......

What is a Christian?

"What is it that inspires professors of Christianity generally with a hope of salvation? It is that smooth, sophisticated influence of the devil, by which he deceives the whole world"
- Prophet Joseph Smith, Jr., Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 270

"...all the priests who adhere to the sectarian religions of the day with all their followers, without one exception, receive their portion with the devil and his angels."
- Prophet Joseph Smith, Jr. , The Elders Journal, v. 1, no. 4, p. 60

"Brother Taylor has just said that the religions of the day were hatched in hell. The eggs were laid in hell, hatched on its borders, and then kicked on to the earth."
- Prophet Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, v. 6, p. 176

"With a regard to true theology, a more ignorant people never lived than the present so-called Christian world."
- Prophet Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, v. 8, p. 199

"Both Catholics and Protestants are nothing less than the ‘whore of Babylon' whom the Lord denounces by the mouth of John the Revelator as having corrupted all the earth by their fornications and wickedness. Any person who shall be so corrupt as to receive a holy ordinance of the Gospel from the ministers of any of these apostate churches will be sent down to hell with them, unless they repent."
- Apostle Orson Pratt, The Seer, p. 255

One reason the secular left has won and continues to win is that those in opposition to them spend nearly as much time attacking one another as they do fighting their mortal enemies on the left.

This country can become as Communistic as Russia under Stalin, and the MORMONS will STILL be wrong.

This is about SOULS, not whether you agree with the dictator!
