I ask my fellow catholics to start this novena for the intercession of Our Lady, the mother of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and the patroness of the USA

I believe it was Pope Pius IX in 1856 who consecrated the United States to the Blessed Virgin Mary on December 8th, Feast of the Immaculate Conception.

In order to be a child of Mary then who is the Father? God or Jesus? If salvation is only through Jesus then by your statement you have created a incestuous relationship between Jesus and his mother.

I was drawn to the beauty of this statue. She seemed like a real person, and I was taken in by her smile.
I went home, and it all slipped from my mind.
About 3 or 4 weeks ago, I was surfing the net, and stumbled across this website, www.ourladyofamerica.org, and it all came back to me that I did meet her once before. Through the website, I found out that Mother Mary appeared to a nun in Indiana, in the late 1950s, under the title of "Our Lady of America." I started praying to her, and my prayers increased as I learned more and more about Obama.
I felt I had to spread the word, so I did a search on FR and found this thread.
I have feelings of hope, concerning the outcome of the election, because this statue is so close to her National Shrine, her request so close to being fulfilled:
Sister Mary Ephrem, deceased on January 10th, 2000, said she was asked by The Blessed Virgin Mary to draw a picture according to the vision of Our Lady of America and have a statue constructed accordingly and placed after a solemn procession into the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, in Washington, D.C.. The Blessed Virgin Mary wishes to be honored in the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception at Washington D.C. as Our Lady of America. Our Lady says that if this is done, the United States of America would turn back toward morality and the shrine would become a place of "wonders."
She now resides at the Pope John Paul II Cultural Center, awaiting approval of the Catholic Bishops for installation at the National Shrine. We're on the verge of receiving the promised wonders.
Our Lady of America, by thy Holy and Immaculate Conception, Oh Mary, deliver us from evil. Amen.
BTW, the top picture is of the statue in front of St. Peter’s, which is near Ground Zero.
The original St. Peter’s was the first Catholic church in New York, and was the parish of St. Elizabeth Seton (as I love to call her, “a NY girl who made good”).
