The selection of Sen. Joseph Biden as Barack Obama's running mate underscores, once again, the challenges faced by these candidates among evangelical Christians and Catholics. In the case of Obama, the concern is that his faith is not the sort of Christianity that most evangelicals or Catholics would profess. Far from solving this problem, the selection of Biden brings to the ticket a man at odds with the highest levels of his own Catholic faith.

Too bad ordained priests in the hierarchy don’t want to talk tough in public, as this layman does. Joe Biden SHOULD have all sorts of public problems with the Catholic Church, as should Nancy Pelosi.

My concern is that his faith is that of most politicians. Brought out of the closet for elections. Never followed afterwards.
In Obamas case being a Christian doesn’t square well with his being a wannabe Communist.

This had nothing to do with “morality change of heart”.
It had everything to do with political strategy. The Demonrats merely put their finger to wind, calculated that Edwards would offend a lot of voters ( who **do** have morals) and chose an different speaker who might bring in more votes.
