She set her self up as a spokesperson for the Catholic Church on a national news show. She had to know what was coming.
From what I've read, Cardinal Egan was displeased that Mr. Giuliani received Communion at the pope's Mass in New York. Apparently, there had been a private conversation that had ended with the conclusion that Mr. Giuliani should refrain from the reception of the Blessed Sacrament.
I think that Cardinal Egan felt that he'd been made a fool of. He is a proud man, and may now be taking a more jaundiced view of “private arrangements” with pro-abortion “Catholic” politicians.
