Being together forever with a spouse who abused and eventually killed could be a real drag. Sounds more like Hell than Heaven.

I think the qualitative word here is “worthy.” If you’re sealed in the temple to someone who subsequently prooves unworthy for any reason, (any type of abuse, in this case) you can’t be with that person Forever because that person disregarded the Commandments.

The Ten Commandments always apply, and if you disobey them knowingly and willingly, you can’t expect to get blessings. While you have a right to choose your course in life, you don’t have a right to choose the punishment for disobedience to any of God’s laws.

Just as Catholics don’t believe divorces are valid, and that once married in the church means you are forever married to that person until death, the caveat is still the same. If you choose to disobey God’s Laws, then you are subject to God’s Punishment.

Logic says so.
