You are probably correct. But I stand by the "too little" element. Now I'm far from the brightest or most educated Anglican on the face of the earth today but the following appalls me:
...Williams said Anglicans need "space for study and free discussion without pressure" about whether to accept changes in traditional biblical understanding of same-sex relationships. He also asked churches to refrain from adopting official prayers for blessing same-gender unions.

"If the North American churches don't accept the need for moratoria, then to say the least, we are no further forward," Williams said ... "That means as a communion we continue to be in grave peril."

The 77 million-member Anglican Communion has been splintering since... U.S. Episcopal Church consecrated the first openly gay bishop ...

Williams does not have the authority to force an agreement among the conflicted groups. The 38 Anglican national churches ... are self-governed and loosely connected by shared roots in the missionary work of the Church of England.

But the 650 bishops at Lambeth said Sunday in a statement, which they called their "reflections" on the meeting, that "there is widespread support across the communion" for an extended moratorium on gay bishops and on blessing ceremonies for same-gender couples.

"A fellow Christian may believe they have a profound fresh insight... [b]ut the Christian with the new insight can't claim straight away that this is now what the Church of God believes or intends."

Episcopal Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori ... said the communion "is suffering the birth pangs of something new"...

In fact, I'll back off on the "too little." The Archdruid of Canterbury is apostate, and his own words here make that case.

The article is wrong in that the "splintering" began with the "installation" as bishop of a divorced and infidel man; it began roughly a quarter-century before that in the Episcopal church.

"That means as a communion we continue to be in grave peril." Dude, your communion is OVER and there are Anglicans in North America who want nothing to do with your "communion" with apostates and heretics.

Let Jefferts-Schori birth her "something new": I predict nothing but an old heresy slouching back.

Now. Can I say what I really think?

I agree. We know he doesn't believe any of what he's saying, and hasn't for years.

At this point I believe his motivating factor is that he doesn't want to be remembered as the Archbishop of Canterbury who presided over the final dissolution of the Anglican Communion.

But it's definitely too late for that! The train is hurtling towards the open drawbridge, and he can pull the airbrake lever all he wants, but it won't do any good.

lol! Whether intentionally or not, Rowan Williams is an enabler, whose inactions and the delays they cause are being exploited by KJS and friends to consolidate their winnings.
