Exactly. There are liberal Catholic churches just as there are liberal Protestant churches who are renegades and oppose the official doctrine of their church. Nothing new there - it's been happening since the first century.
Now what IS disturbing are those Christians I know who seem to really, truly have a close and authentic relationship with Jesus, and yet support Obama despite his clearly anti-Christian position and values. I just cannot reconcile it with all I believe those who follow Christ "should" look like. Sadly, I find I pray for them much like I pray for my enemies.
