"For where two or three have gathered together in My name" Matthew 18:20 Devotional

"For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst" Matthew 18:20 For some time, through FReepmail, several FReepers have provided each other with a way to share prayer requests and praises.

Now that the Non-denominational category has been established at FR, we are offering a weekly thread in which posts of your requests and praises are welcome.

Anyone, regardless of denomination, is welcome to bring their concerns here.

The one thing that we hope to establish here, is that at a set time on Sunday evening, 11:00 p.m. in the Eastern time zone, 10:00 p.m. Central time, 9:00 p.m. Mountain time, and 8:00 p.m. Pacific time, we will as a group, gather together from all over the nation and the world, expecting He will be in our midsts as we lift these concerns up in prayer. Individual prayer at any time is, of course, encouraged.

If anyone desires to post an "anonymous" request, just word it in a manner such as: " Please lift up my prayer (or praise) for a personal concern." Additional anonymity can be gained by sending a request or praise to svcw, greyfoxx39, or MHGinTN via FReepmail.

In the future, the weekly thread will be posted on Monday mornings in order for the concerns to be gathered through the week before they are compiled for the Sunday evening group prayer. This list will be available to all by evening on Sunday.

If anyone has any additional ideas for this thread, or anyone would like to volunteer to help keep this thread going, please let us know.

The Bible passages found in Matthew chapter 18 are very instructional. We have the astonishing privilege of having our Savior, The very Word of God, come into the midst of us when we gather in His name, connected to our being forgiving to those who do us despite and holding no grudge toward our fellow humans. We may expect He is in our midst as we approach gathering in innocence. To Him be the glory. He alone is worhty of our praise.

From freeper GRRRRR:

I don't do prayer requests very well, but a dear friend of ours needs one. Their grandson has a Schwannoma tumor on the vagus nerve and will be undergoing surgery on July 25 .
Their Dr. wants to remove it before it grows into the brain stem or chest area. This is a very rare tumor for an adult to have let alone a child. There have only been a handful of these surgeries done. They will not know until they get inside if this growth is on the side of the nerve or surrounding the mass.
Please Pray for Aaron, and his dad Jason, mom Gina and the rest of their family.

Praying for Aaron and his family...

Be healed Aaron, in the Lovely Name of Jesus...

He sent His Word, and healed them. Psalm 107:20

Peace to Jason and Gina, and the rest of the family, in the Lovely Name of Jesus...

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10

The following requests came after we had posted the prayer list for the Sunday evening gathering in His name. We will be adding these as the first on the list for Sunday evening, July 27, 2008, AND we will be mindful of the surgery on the 25th and praying for the recovery of huldah1776’s friend who had surgery Monday (yesterday).

My Mother Mary W, who appears to have had another TIA (ministroke). She had an MRI Thursday, and will get the results Thursday. She is only alive thanks to the Grace of God, having had Thyroid Cancer in the 1970’s while she was in her 40’s. She's been free of that cancer, although she struggles with alcohol and had neuropathy and several TIA’s. I think she had another several weeks ago, and I fear it will be a downward spiral from here. If her conditions is the Lord's will, pray for me, that I (and my siblings) have the strength to deal with what's to come.
My friend Betty has breast cancer, and has moved on from the chemo and started radiation therapy. She's so tired she want so quit, but continues to work. I've asked the Good Lord to cast his healing powers over her.
And last — my friend Kevin, in his 30’s with Waldstrom’s disease. Since his diagnosis and treatment he feels better, but the test results don't really show that. He needs the strenghth and perseverence to take his medications regularly, as well as the healing that only the Lord can provide.
I've seen how the prayers of many can help those in need, and all those on this thread and others are in my prayers as well. Thank you to all those who quietly pray for their fellow believers.

AND

My friend Martha is about 70 and has developed something the doctor called “baker cyst” on her leg…
It’s painful and swollen, and she asked us to pray for her..
(Baker cyst: A swelling in the space behind the knee (the popliteal space) composed of a membrane-lined sac filled with synovial fluid that has escaped from the joint. Baker cyst is named after the British surgeon William Morrant Baker (1839-1896). Also called a synovial cyst of the popliteal space.)

Just the ususal ... and we praise the Lord for such. :^)

.......Aaron did just great..surgery was about 3 ½ hours and the tumor was as large as the Dr.’s fist. It was not on the Vagus nerve, but on the sympathetic nerve chain – which they did have to remove. Much better scenario, since these ‘small’ nerves control minor, cosmetic things instead of swallowing and speech. The tumor had grown up to the base of his skull, so it’s a good thing they went ahead and got it out. His Mommy and Daddy just went to recovery to see him for the first time. Thanks for your continued prayers and support. We do serve a great and awesome God!

Today, Aaron is anxious about walking down the hall for the first time, and having the tubes removed. He is drinking and has yet to eat solid food.

Yesterday the nurses had difficulty reinserting the IV and in probing to find the vein of course scared Aaron. They may discharge him tomorrow or Monday, providing all continues to goe well with his progress. The doctor noticed that his left pupil has been affected,as it’s smaller than the right eye, due to the removal of the sympathetic nerve, however Aaron may never notice.

We didn’t see any other issues such as droopy eye lid; only time will tell if there are any minor affects to the left side of his face. The incision goes from the back of his ear to almost center of his neck.

Our thanks to everyone for your continued prayers and support of our family, especially Aaron.

Blessings,
Aaron’s Grandma and Grandpa

We have a wonderful praise for a fellow FReeper. Details can’t be public, but the Lord is working His way in a most wondrous way. Ask and ye shall receive.

Thank you for praying for Martha with the Bakers Cyst on her leg...

The doctor is going to drain it this week...

Please pray for a friend of Nana’s who has had TIAs for the last few months...

(TIAs are little strokes)

But Jesus said unto her, “Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take THE CHILDREN’S BREAD, and to cast it unto the dogs. Mark 7:27

If Jesus regarded healing as the BREAD of the CHILDREN OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD AKA as believers, Christians, then we as CHILDREN are entitled to ask (believing) for healing and receive HEALING...
