After a woman filed a $10 million lawsuit claiming she was sexually assaulted by the Rev. Jeffery Stallworth, the Jackson, Miss. pastor turned around and sued her for $200 million. Hinds County Circuit Judge William Coleman dismissed Stallworth's countersuit. And that means the woman's lawsuit can move forward.
The woman is also suing the Mississippi United Methodist Conference and Anderson United Methodist Church. Stallworth used to be pastor at Anderson. The Associated Press does not identify sexual assault victims. Stallworth's lawsuit said the woman tricked him into believing the two had a personal relationship to try to sell insurance policies.
Coleman dismissed the countersuit on June 13. Stallworth, then-pastor of Anderson United Methodist Church in Jackson, pleaded guilty in 2002 to a misdemeanor count of sexually assaulting the woman during a 2001 stay at her Maryland home. Stallworth claims a Maryland judge removed his conviction and sentence in 2005. But in a ruling last month the Mississippi Supreme Court upheld the decision by a Hinds County judge that Stallworth must remain on the state's sex offender registry.
Stallworth contended his misdemeanor fourth-degree sex conviction and sentence were removed by a judge and the crime to which he pleaded guilty in Maryland would not require a person to register as a sex offender in Mississippi. Mississippi law requires sex offenders to register with the local sheriff's department and have an identification card issued by the Highway Patrol. Mississippi Circuit Judge Bobby DeLaughter ruled in 2006 that while a misdemeanor did not require registration as a sex offender in Maryland, "upon return to Mississippi, Stallworth was required to register here as a sex offender.''

These cases involved the male-only Roman Catholic priesthood, the officially celibate clergy of a religion that deems homosexuality even between consenting adults a sin. The male-on-boy pattern led to a joke making the rounds in the wake of the scandals. Question: ''How do you get a priest to make love with a nun?'' Answer: ''Dress her up as an altar boy.'' http://www.crimemagazine.com/03/geoghan,1201.htm
‘’How do you get a minister to make love with a nun?’’ Answer: ‘’Dress her up as young girl.’’ and chant, “ye must be born again”
Coleus, you are awesome and you ROCK!!! Keep up the good work! LOL
Let me see. Your answer to protestant clergy abuse is that because there was a Catholic clergy sexual abuse scandal involving boys that protestant clergy sexual abuse of minors is ok because it involves young girls.
Sounds pretty lame to me and involves reasoning I might get from one of my teens.
I am hoping that you are incorrect in your analysis here because it is simply revolting that anyone should ever seriously believe that sexual abuse between male/female is somehow not as bad as between male/male...I can hardly conceive of anyone actually believing something so rotten...
Any type of sexual abuse between adults and youngsters is vile, evil, and sinful...the gender of those involved should make no difference whatsoever...
You said: I am hoping that you are incorrect in your analysis..
I have seen it posted many times in these threads about clergy abuse. Somehow male clergy abuse of girls gets a *wink* and a “at least he had the right sexual orientation”. How you can call sexual abuse of underage girls “the right sexual orientation” is beyond me.
In the meantime you have a young lady who’s life is equally shattered as any boy who suffered defilement.
IIRC, during the Catholic crisis that non-Catholics loved to post stories every day and say all kinds of vile things about Catholics and Catholicism, cloaking it in their supposed shock.
I think it is because of that scandal that these perverts are being rooted out and exposed to the public. You would think everyone would be as happy as Catholics to have the predators out of their midst.
Well, such ‘winks’ are just plain sick...
Indeed, any young person, sexually abused and sexually molested, suffers great harm, sometimes harm that lasts their whole lifetimes....families can wind up torn apart over this, and the young people wind up with thoroughly destroyed lives...
And this is completely independent, of what gender person sexually molested either the same or the opposite gender...
It is sick to think otherwise...
