You are correct. I will go so far as to change your statement from "the majority" to "some".
I will ask you though, in your opinion, why you think the church leaders feel it necessary to provide this lesson to the PH and RS members at this time? Do you see something in that lesson that is a suggestion for reaching out?
Monson, in his conference talk, made this statement: Over the years we have issued appeals to the less active, the offended, the critical, the transgressorto come back. Come back and feast at the table of the Lord, and taste again the sweet and satisfying fruits of fellowship with the Saints.2
This was a litany of attributed motives to the many who have left the church, a reminder that there is no honest reason, such as false teachings that would lead to apostasy. This suggests that leaving is due to character failure. And I see nothing in this posted lesson that disputes that suggestion.
