You have not answered the question. Your reply obfuscates, then makes the conclusion that the question is unanswerable
From a social standpoint, these are classic tools when uncomfortable questions are asked
I also direct your attention here (100) for a rules violation
what was your inetnt by posting that - Ive seen the Scripture - a comment would help
Post 100 is not directed to another Freeper, personally, and therefore is not “making it personal.”
Are you reading my mind? Attributing motive to me?
I would ask you THIS. Why are mormons so afraid of their doctrines and practices being brought into the light that they would attempt in every way to censor any opposition?
fair enough - thanks for removing 96 as well
(Another one bites the dust. R.I.P. "Ron Jeremy")
Mitt didn't get the nomination because he is a NE liberal. The 99% mormon vote just wasn't quite enough to swing it for him. He will spend the next four years buying, with the help of wealthy mormon donors, more media outlets and polishing his conservative facade.
David Archuleta is a talented kid who was defeated by a more talented man.
Again, the tagline is not directed as a criticism of another poster but rather what the poster evidently thought was a statement of fact. However, the statement is false. Ron Jeremy is active.
there are many off color jokes in that line LOL
Okie dokie. You just go on believing that about handshakes and the President, in fact, everyone who has shaken hands with a Mormon. How do you know you haven’t accidentally shaken hands with a Mormon? Just for fun, I searched in Google images for people shaking hands. Did you know that shaking hands is proper business etiquette?
Or perhaps we should just all high five now. Or Palm raised, gap between middle two fingers: Live long and prosper.
I also did a quick search on the history of handshakes. Historians seem to think it predates written history. One theory is that men would show their right hands so that the other man could verify there were no weapons. Lots and lots of interesting tidbits.
OK. The doctrine scares you. I don’t believe in some religious doctrines, but they don’t scare me. Well, except the Muslim ones where they are guaranteed 72 virgins in heaven if they blow up the West. Or train their children to become terrorists for a religious cause (and money.)
Are you going to deny that that handshake is extremely similar to the Mormon "secret" handshake of the sign of the nail?
Sure Sign of the Nail?
Girl, are you being honest with your fellow man? Perhaps this is only milk before meat, or is it not casting pearls before swine? I know, I know....you’ve sworn an oath not to talk about it.
But this MUST have YOU wondering what is going on. You KNOW.
Iin response to your post 33. I think you believe that since the veil in the temple was rent after His death, that means that temples are no longer necessary. I was just quoting from the New Testament what Peter and Matthew thought about it (that Christ made the temple accessible to everyone who would accept His name and follow His commandments.)
Reading the mind of another poster is a form of "making it personal."
That scripture says nothing about “obeying commandments.”
It says that through His flesh, we may all be perfected and enter through the veil.
Have you obeyed the commandments enough to come unto him?
I was trying to be kind and find out. I could have asked you why you have such an antipathy towards Mormons. What other word can I use?
I’m not afraid of having our doctrines brought out to the true light of day. Anyone who is worthy can go to the temple and see for themselves. Anyone can attend our church meetings. However, the doctrines that you and your friends bring out is not the doctrine that is taught in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
The doctrines that are posted are not official Church doctrine. And why don’t you all try posting something that you disagree with in this day and age? Just asking.
I don’t attempt to censor the opposition. I try to answer some of the things posted with our beliefs and from the scriptures. We have freedom of religion in this country, and on FR, as long as we discuss it civilly, the posts seem to stand. However, as I have said for several years, anytime I see pictures or information about the temple ceremonies, I will hit abuse. (I don’t think that rule applies to the Open Square or whatever this forum is.)
She has been through the LDS Temple as I have been. She has participated in the “tokens” or special handshakes, and so yes she does indeed have knowledge, she knows. It is a fact, it is NOT reading another individuals mind.
I know she has performed this very handshake as have ALL Temple Endowed Mormon members. That is a fact. It is the truth. It is not “making it personal.”
