I never really thought any of this religion stuff would actually change people’s opinions. Good luck in your new faith.

Scott Hahn’s “Catholic for a Reason” turned my hubby.
He was welcomed into the church two years ago and is now an usher and very devout.

Look into the RCIA program, if they offer it at your new church. It was the best orientation and explanation of the Catholic faith I've seen. My wife went through the program with me and she is a “cradle Catholic” - she learned a lot and she went to Catholic schools! It walks you through the faith and leads to full confirmation in the Easter Season. It was truly a life-changing experience with a great group of people and a very competent and caring priest. All the best to you!

John Hagee - lol.

Actually, it looks like the Catholic Church has worked hard to clean up its act over the last few years.

A liitle surprising that one would choose the Catholic Church over a Bible-believing Protestant church.

The important thing to keep forever in your mind is that Jesus Christ is Lord. May He lead you in your every step.

Read the 1994 Catechism of the Catholic Church.

The grace and the guidance of the Holy Spirit be with you!

For a time as a young adult, I a Catholic born, adhered to the Holy Bible as the only Source of God’s Word

But the Church is the repository of the Holy Sacraments. Compare its observance of the Holy Eucharist to any other Christian denomination. They commemorate, Catholics experience, the Presence of the living Christ.

Good idea to read the catechism.

For people converting to the Church (as I did, 25 years ago) there is a process called, “Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults” (RCIA for short), and it’s to help you be sure that the Catholic Church is the place where you are at home.

I’ll keep you in prayers, and please, keep us all posted.

I’m curious about what turned your mind toward the Church, if you don’t mind talking about it. It is, after all, your private business. For me, reading the Bible through and through many times led me to the oldest Church and the most competent people I could find to teach me to worship Christ in Spirit, and in Truth.

I found the Lord Jesus Christ, Risen Son of the Living God, in the mass.

Wow! Congratulations - and welcome home. It’s going to be different, but you’re never going to regret it. Read some books on the history of the Church so you can really feel part of this incredible stream of believers that pours through history. Also, read about the Eucharist. I don’t know your taste in reading material, but if you go to the Ignatius Press website (http://www.ignatius.com) you will be able to browse through a wide variety until you find the type of material that appeals to you. (There are also videos.) Prayers for you and your family!

Good Books:

1. The Catechism of the Catholic Church

2. My Imitation of Christ, Confraternity of the Precious Blood edition.

One for your brain, one for your heart and soul. (The Imitation in this particular edition has beautifully expressive illustrations, and is very fruitful for meditation and examination of conscience.)

Today in my liberal infested work, my “boss” proudly exclaimed that her new bumper sticker would read, Religion Kills. She was so gleeful, and jovial. God Bless you and welcome. Always I walk around with the faith inside of me.
No one can ever take it away. Jesus proclaimed that we would be mocked and scorned and this society fully engages in this practice. Most of the time it does not bother me, but sometimes I worry about with whom my children have conversations. I believe you are making a good choice.
