This should be correctly titled “Justification in ROMAN Catholic Teaching” as the Catholic Church (Eastern and other Orthodox, and various Protestant groups) as a whole does not subscribe to this.
Calling Rome alone the “universal” Church is only their opinion.

What the author does not understand is that no one can speak for the Protestant church, as no such body exists. Protestantism is divided into numerous denominations and sects, many of whom are hostile to each other. Even within one specific denomination, the ability of the leadership of the church to speak for members is limited. None are bound to follow a leader's interpretation of the Christian faith, and most members show no hesitation about leaving for another church home, if they hear anything they regard as “heretical.”

There is but one Catholic theology in all Catholic Churches, the Roman Church as well as the Catholic Churches of the East.
I don’t think the Eastern Orthodox theology differs from ours either, but that is not the point, is it?
