Not only did Joseph Smith marry as many wives as he wanted, he married several wives that were already married to other men simultaneously. Records of Joseph Smith, from the LDS site, http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/AF/individual_record.asp?recid=7762167&lds=0&frompage=99
You are mistaken dangus is your suggestion that Joseph Smith wasn’t involved in polygamy, or are you rLDS?
What I MEANT was that Joe Smith’s promotion of polygamy was overturned.
Oh, sorry.
Jesus must bear some responsibility for the existence of the church since God "gave Him to be head over all things to the church" (Eph. 1:22). The Lord Himself also nourishes (feeds) and cherishes (lovingly cares for) the church (Eph. 5:29). Jesus never told anyone else to go build His church. Instead, He declared, "I will build my church" (Matt. 16:18). And after He ascended into heaven, Acts 2:47 declares, "And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved." He needed no successor to build His church because He lives forever (Heb. 7:24-25). That is why Col. 1:18 declares, "He is the head of the body, the church." Notice the present tense verb is used which shows that Jesus was still Head of His church even though He had ascended to heaven many years before that was written! And Jesus is still the Head of His Church and He is adding members to it today!

This isn’t an ecumenic thread, it is ecunemic. LOL, I just notice my misspelling in the headline.
Is that anything like being anemic?? If anemia is a lack of iron in the blood, what is ecunemia a lack of???
Well, since it's not ecumenic but ecunemic instead, then I guess it's safe.
So why would God allow people to wallow along without the truth of how to be saved for 1700 years before He tells them the right way to Himself, I wonder?
A lack of ecumenics perhaps? There is a word "unemics," but the definition is medical. I'm too stupid to understand it...
:-)
1700 YEARS of people wandering in the wilderness, just waiting for a man such as Joseph Smith to arrive perhaps? I don’t have a clear answer for you.
woo hoo - its not ecumenic -let the invectives and personal insults fly like the unwashed pigs we apostates are
This thread is "ecumenic." It is closed to all anti arguments.
Posters may express the beliefs they are for but not those they are against. They may also ask questions.
Posters who try to tear down others beliefs or use subterfuge to accomplish the same goal are the disrupters on ecumenic threads and will be booted from the thread and/or suspended.
Evidently NOT what was said at #10 and #20!!!
Not so fast....It looks like the mod fixed the title.
Thank you mod, and I apologize for my post that was removed at #10. Yep it was me, forgot the rules on my own ecumenic thread. Oops
(now I have myself second guessing if it was me at post #20)
