The article was published on Valentine’s Day? LOL.
I noticed that too. Ironic, eh?
Not surprised. It’s a pretty common pagan practice.
Joseph Smith was sealed to other women for Eternity who were married to other men for earth time.
There would be no
Meaning it there was no consummation between Joseph and the sealed wife.
But all children she had with her [time] husband would be Joseph Smith progenitors beyond the vail.
Maybe Rev Wright is a secret Mormon. He stole his wife from another guy.
Interesting thread.
I recently discovered that one of my g+g+g+g,etc. grandfathers was George Miller, who was Smith’s “right-hand man” and stayed with the Mormons until they split, some heading for Utah and the others to Texas, I believe. This grandfather had been married for 20-some years and then married three rather young ladies. Those three are not in the blood-line, but Miller’s first wife was.
Makes for a very confusing family tree.
I was reading the Bible the other day and read again the disturbing (to me anyway) account of King David stealing the wife of another man - no, I’m not talking about Bathsheba and Uriah - I’m talking about Michal, Saul’s daughter. Michal’s husband was weeping over the loss of his wife. Later Michal “despised” David in her heart.
But the main point I would like to make here is that you cannot judge spiritual matters by earthly processes. This article seeks to offer as fact a bunch of stuff slanted to fit a preconceived earthly notion.
And you guys wonder why the Emigrants were hounded out of Illinois and Missouri by men with guns?
Your buddy Joe was an ordinary cult leader using his gullible followers for the worst of reasons. Guys like him pop up over and over in history, and it's always the same story: what's yours is mine 'cuz God said so.
Not surprising he ended up dead and the rest of them ended up in the Salt Lake valley when it was the end of the Earth.
Um, adultery is a "spiritual matter"?
Last time I checked it was a mortal sin. No matter how you spin the rationale for it.

That never happened at all...
Michal was promised to David...
Saul gave Michal to another man to spite David while he was gone..
David came back and claimed his rightful wife...
It was the other guy who had stolen David’s wife...
Michal was angry because David danced before the Lord and worshipped Him for the victory over the enemy...
Michal refused to dance herself so she despised David for doing so...
A bit of futher reading reveals how God punished Michal for her sin against God and David..
God shut up her womb and Michal never had any children.
Naw.
Well, you’d be amazed at what religious hijinks a “prophet” who talks out of his hat can invent.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Please remember, there are very good articles written by LDS authors that show this article to be wrong.
Study both sides and don't be duped.
Make your own decision.
And Michal Saul’s daughter loved David: and they told Saul, and the thing pleased him. And Saul said, I will give him her, that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him. Wherefore Saul said to David, Thou shalt this day be my son in law in [the one of] the twain. 1 Samuel 18:20, 21
Wherefore David arose and went, he and his men, and slew of the Philistines two hundred men; and David brought their foreskins, and they gave them in full tale to the king, that he might be the king’s son in law. And Saul gave him Michal his daughter to wife. And Saul saw and knew that the LORD [was] with David, and [that] Michal Saul’s daughter loved him. 1 Samuel 18:27, 28
But Saul had given Michal his daughter, David’s wife, to Phalti the son of Laish, which [was] of Gallim. 1 Samuel 25:44
2Sa 3:13 And he said, Well; I will make a league with thee: but one thing I require of thee, that is, Thou shalt not see my face, except thou first bring Michal Saul’s daughter, when thou comest to see my face.
2Sa 3:14 And David sent messengers to Ishbosheth Saul’s son, saying, Deliver [me] my wife Michal, which I espoused to me for an hundred foreskins of the Philistines.
2Sa 3:15 And Ishbosheth sent, and took her from [her] husband, [even] from Phaltiel the son of Laish.
2Sa 3:16 And her husband went with her along weeping behind her to Bahurim. Then said Abner unto him, Go, return. And he returned. 2 Samuel 3:13-16
And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul’s daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart.
2Sa 6:17 And they brought in the ark of the LORD, and set it in his place, in the midst of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.
2Sa 6:18 And as soon as David had made an end of offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of hosts.
2Sa 6:19 And he dealt among all the people, [even] among the whole multitude of Israel, as well to the women as men, to every one a cake of bread, and a good piece [of flesh], and a flagon [of wine]. So all the people departed every one to his house.
2Sa 6:20 ¶ Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!
2Sa 6:21 And David said unto Michal, [It was] before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD.
2Sa 6:22 And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour.
2Sa 6:23 Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death. 2 Samuel 6:16-23
Thank me
:)
That's makes it all better, huh?
Joseph Smith gets to keep all the children of some other man in eternity as well as that man's wife; and that other man who fathered all those children and loved and raised them as his own and loved that wife gets.... well.... what* exactly?
*(I can't adequately express my speculation as to the answer because this is the religion forum and no potty language is allowed; but it does refer to the smelly side of a particular stick).
And Michal “despised” David in her heart after all was said in done.

And God punished Michal for that..
Because David was worshipping God at the time...
God closed her womb and she NEVER had a child...
I still felt sorry for Michal’s husband who was brokenhearted.

Dont be...
He had stolen David’s wife...
Michal was David’s legal wife..
Actually Michal was the 2nd wife that Saul had taken off David and given to another man...
Because he was jealous of David..
