So many words, so little knowledge.
Freep-mail me to get on or off my pro-life and Catholic List:
Please ping me to note-worthy Pro-Life or Catholic threads, or other threads of interest.
What’s particularly galling is that western civilization is facing exitinction because we’re not having ENOUGH children.
These articles just remind me that evil tends to sow the seeds of it's own destruction. Those who today find it desirable to abort and contracept their prodigy won't be around 50 years from now. And you know what? Children tend to take their cues from their parents. If the parents are strongly pro-life, the children tend to be as well. So where are those children who would eventually replace those who are currently anti-life? They're not being allowed to be born! I don't like that fact, but it's hard to avoid the observation that the anti-life are systematically taking themselves out of the population.
Hey, I’m anti-(the teachings of the Catholic religion) but I believe, as does God, that people should have as many kids as He gives them and that birth control is a sin.
“I once had a KJV-Onlyist explain to me at length why artificial contraception and abortion are both eminently justifiable Biblically.”
I’m a KJV-onlyist and that person is a fool. If he would read his KJV he’d be made wise.
“In my great ignorance of the Baptist faith, my jaw dropped.”
That is NOT a part of the Baptist faith. That might be common in the modern Southern Baptist churches but it’s not Bible. It’s a symptom of leaving their Bibles on the shelf in favor of Purpose Drive Life. The real Baptists are the Independents and we maintain large families and abhor abortion and the pill because we read our Bibles.
We’re simple and the simple are made wise by just reading God’s Word.
“I don’t like that fact, but it’s hard to avoid the observation that the anti-life are systematically taking themselves out of the population.”
That may be true but I still think it’s going to be a net loss no matter how you look at it (morally, culturally, economically, etc.)
I thought that the Independent Baptists, while generally considering the KJV to be the only reliable English translation of the Bible, still acknowledge that the Textus Receptus is valuable and worth studying and that people who do not speak English don't need to study an English Bible.
When I say KJV-onlyist, I mean the people who believe that the Textus Receptus is of no value and that people who do not know English need to learn English in order to study the Bible because the KJV is the only accurate text of the Bible.
(Of course artificial birth control is not the answer this guy thinks it is.)
He predicted a rise in immorality too, the old fool.
“I thought that the Independent Baptists, while generally considering the KJV to be the only reliable English translation of the Bible, still acknowledge that the Textus Receptus is valuable and worth studying and that people who do not speak English don’t need to study an English Bible.”
Oh yeah, we believe that.
“That may be true but I still think its going to be a net loss no matter how you look at it (morally, culturally, economically, etc.)”
I have mixed emotions. I’m an abolitionist, but if the culture of death wishes to pull the plug on it’s own future, so be it. There’s little I can do to prevent it anyway, other than pray for a change of heart.
