Yes, it has been made clear that he was “conceived in the normal manner, like you or I”
Nice to know that Mormons can call allude (in a vanity post as well) that Christians (and you are attacking Christians) are pigs - and get away with it.
I didn't know I stumbled into a radical Muslim chat room.

Diamond, I think it's time for you to "repost" your "Lady Lawyer" response.
Good pick up, Sky. (We get called so many ad hominen names by Mormons on a regular basis that we'd probably only notice it if it suddenly stopped!)
Being unable to defend the many blasphemies inherent in Mormonism, they use 100,000 words to redefine the meaning of "is."
Although netmilsmom handled this just fine for me in my absence, I'll elaborate. Occasionally - maybe twice a week - the title of an LDS-specific thread will catch my eye. If I read something about forgiveness, about God's love, or about family life and homemaking, I generally find that it applies to my own life irrespective of the source.
If I decide to respond, "Oh, that's very nice!" or "I really liked this observation," I've never had anyone tell me I couldn't post because I'm not Mormon.
And now, back to daydreaming about Hawaii.
“...I dont have to agree with someones faith to respect them and to respect the value they place on their own beliefs.”
Should be enshrined on the Religion Moderator’s page.
“Do you voice a disagreement with the Lord?”
Of course I do. Disagreement is the proof of faith. Atheists don’t disagree with God.
Good response though.
I'll fight for your right to believe anything you want. Just don't try to tell me it's the same thing I believe because it's not.
I’m reading a book on Mormon Polygamy and the polygamists whole argument was that the LDS church “broke the rules” on the Principle because the Principle was eternal. The LDS responded that the polygamists broke the rule on Apostle Succession in that Latter Day leaders would prophecy God’s Truth. If the President and the General Conference said polygamy was to end, they were speaking what God had told them. Not to mention that the US government was threatening to confiscate the Temples.
Oddly, the church cooperated with the polygamists by sending them out of the country. Eventually, the disagreement became too great with the polygamists undermining the authority of SLC.
Note: the FLDS group drank coffee and alcohol. Go figure.
How should Catholics feel about all the people they work with, play with, hang out with, who believe that Mary had sex with Joseph before marriage, and that’s how Jesus came to be?
And are they also feeling bad about other Christians who believe that Mary had sex with Joseph AFTER Jesus was born, and had other children?
When you get into mechanisms of acts, rather than their fact, you go beyond what the bible teaches. Same with things as simple on the surface as communion. Eat this bread, Drink this cup. Pretty simple, but various denominations have made it into an area of contention. As with Baptism, and what might ensue from the act.
And don’t forget speaking in tongues. Well, do forget it, most people do, purposely, because they want to get along as one big happy christian brotherhood. They simply stay out of each other’s churches.
The first person to use the word "bigotry" loses.
We don't even follow the same scriptures. I believe your books are out and out frauds.
With that in mind, and the fact that I can in good conscience confess the Nicene creed (all of it), do you think I am a Christian? (that is a yes or no)
Without getting into a overtly religious theological discussion, I will note that on several points of doctrine, your objections are objectionable to my beliefs.
I say that not to say I am right and you are wrong, but to note that among Christians there is dissension as to the specifics you mention.
More broadly, the Christian Evolutionists don’t believe in God the creator, much less Jesus the creator, but still profess Christianity. Many Christians believe that Jesus died first for the specific sins of Adam, to relieve the world of the original sin, which was in the blood, which is why Jesus had to be born of a Virgin, so as not to have blood infected by Adam.
And I speak to Mormons who sincerely believe your reckoning of what they believe to be false. You may well speak for every other Mormon than those I speak with, but I tend not to judge people to be false about their own expressions of their own faith, regardless of what I think their church teaches.
I got the toss from Catholic Answers forums for being too conservative.
I’m not sure they are the best source.
C,
I think the candidacy of Romney, a very prominent mormonism
member, simply raised many, many concerns throughout the US,
as surveys showed. A solid 20%+ consistently said they would
not vote for a mormon. Fact.
As to political threads, that simple fact meant that when
Romney’s candidacy was discussed, you had to expect it would
be discussed thoroughly - including his membership in
mormonism. And when people who are also trapped in mormonism
complained, it is to be expected that those who disagree
with mormonism would disagree also.
Every new thread that is put up about mormonism will be
discussed. If the originator of this thread really wanted
to cool things off, he wouldn’t organize more opportunities
to discuss mormonism. He is working at cross purposes to
what he states. This makes me wonder if he is intending for
this to continue.
best,
ampu
PS - I was one not intending to vote for Romney based on
his liberalism and record and involvement in a cult. Any
of those three would have kept me out.
I’m not sure I understand your point. If you don’t yet know who Jesus is, it’s a pretty good sign that you aren’t yet saved.
