If you’re gonna uote, it’s “Arrrr!”
R!
You called, mortal?
Can you imagine?!
"If your God is not worth defending Charles, what is?"
I'm not beholden to the Assemblies of anything.
I was raised a strict fundamentalist Baptist, and still gravitate toward their dogma, even though I've found a very good Assemblies of God (not even sure of that) church near my home.
This new church has a great Sunday School, and my grandkids love it, and that's good.
Quite frankly, I've been going here to two years, and I couldn't tell the difference between the sermons.
"Mormonism is an original, invented religion, born of the mind of Joseph Smith, who is responsible for the spiritual seduction of millions of people. To the world, Mormonism sells itself as the friendly Christian church down the street, but in reality it is no closer to biblical Christianity than Hinduism or Islam.
The goals of Mormonism, however, remain unchanged. It desires to turn Protestants and Catholics, Evangelicals and Pentecostals, into Mormons. It seeks to introduce them to what the Bible calls another gospel, another spirit, and another Jesus (2 Corinthians 11:4)."
You think my God is the God of “presbyterianism”?
You think my God is some weakling in need of defense against some long-dead mortal?
If a freeper attacks God, he won’t need me to jump in. In this case, all that is happening is some poster keeps posting that “presbyterianism is not true”. I ignore it. God did not ordain my denomination — if he did, then every other denomination would be “attacking” God.
Do you think Presbyterianism is “true”?
Well, yes. That is a Christian denomination, and if you said you worshiped there - I have to assume you believe in that "God."
For someone who throws around their intellect - I have to tell you am amazed, but not surprised, by that sentence coming from you.
You think my God is some weakling in need of defense against some long-dead mortal?
God does not need any of us. He does not need me, or you. But (I think) you know that. Jesus COMMANDED us to make disciples for Him. God and Jesus are one in the same. A "Command" from God means it applies to you as well Charles.
That means if you are a Christian, you are supposed to win souls and spread the Truth.
You are not supposed to stand around with your hands in your pockets and complain that people are defending true Christianity - which is what you have done on this forum.
Yet - you are telling me and everyone else here you are a Chirstian, but giving every excuse you can think of why you should not have to do what He says (i.e. Not the appropriate forum; Will alienate political allies; I don't want to; etc....)
If a freeper attacks God, he wont need me to jump in. In this case, all that is happening is some poster keeps posting that presbyterianism is not true. I ignore it. God did not ordain my denomination if he did, then every other denomination would be attacking God.
TRANSLATION: I don't want to deal with this - let God do it all, and anyway, I will ignore Jesus' words because I want to.
This is what He said:
"Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Gospel of Matthew 28:16-20
Do you think Presbyterianism is true?
Yup.
Mormons, however, do not. That means that they call Christ (the real one) a liar.
The gates of Hell would not prevail against His church .....remember?
It had no need to be "restored" by a guy who "married" 27 girls and murdered two men in a shoot out he caused by trying shut down a newspaper that was going to expose his sexual sins.
So, either the LDS members are lying, or Christ is.
Whose side are you on?
Better yet - you should ask yourself this question:
Are you really in His grip?
Maybe you should check the posting history of some of them, especially the ones who you see posting regularly in the religion forum. A lot of them never leave the Religion forum. For many this is the only place they post. This is their mission field. They post their little Book of Mormon passages on Catholic threads, Protestant threads, Hare Krishna threads, Creationist threads, whatever. They pretend to be Christians just like everyone else, yet they are here to convert as many of you GENTILES as they can to Mormonism.
They rely heavily on guys like you, Christian enablers, who carry their water and who are more than willing to come down hard on anyone who criticizes them or their abberant teachings, doctrines or practices, but is unwilling to come down hard on any of them, no matter what kind of nonsense they post here.
Pot meet kettle. Most of the Carpet Bombers stay here as well. Unless they meander over to the News forum for a bash Romney thread. Mormons are as sincere in what they believe as you are. But I guess you're correct because the spirit tells you. Barf.
Indeed; but...
Romans 10:2-4
2. For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge.
3. Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness.
4. Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
So you are a Presbyterian? Or are you going to hell? Or do you think there a multiple different denominations with different teachings that are all “true”?
