UT administrator suspended over TFP column By Justin R. Kalmes Toledo Free Press Managing Editor jkalmes@toledofreepress.com

EDITOR'S NOTE: The April 6 Michael S. Miller column can be read here. The April 18 Crystal Dixon column can be read here. UT President Lloyd Jacob's response can be read here. The WTOL video report can be viewed here.

A UT administrator has been placed on paid leave for opinions she expressed in a column posted on Toledo Free Press' Web site last month.

As first reported on WTOL TV, Crystal Dixon, associate vice president of human resources, wrote in her column posted on the newspaper's Web site April 18, “As a black woman … I take great umbrage at the notion that those choosing the homosexual lifestyle are ‘civil rights victims.' Here's why. I cannot wake up tomorrow and not be a black woman. I am genetically and biologically a black woman … Daily, thousands of homosexuals make a life decision to leave the gay lifestyle evidenced by the growing population of PFOX (Parents and Friends of Ex Gays) and Exodus International just to name a few.”

Dixon wrote her column in response to an April 6 opinion piece written by Toledo Free Press Editor in Chief Michael S. Miller in which he mentioned UT's policy of offering domestic-partner benefits to university employees but not to those of the former Medical University of Ohio when the institutions merged in 2006.

A UT spokesman confirmed Dixon has been put on paid leave, but said and further comment regarding an ongoing personnel matter would be inappropriate. (Continued)

“Daily, thousands of homosexuals make a life decision to leave the gay lifestyle evidenced by the growing population of PFOX (Parents and Friends of Ex Gays) and Exodus International just to name a few.”

- They can leave the lifestyle. Their orientation will not change. I’ve heard many stories of people who claimed to have changed but was caught at a gay bar later. Even if they get married to the opposite gender, chances are they’re just suppressing their feelings. I’ve read about Exodus International - they will admit to you that very, very few people actually experience complete heterosexuality. So yes, you can be celibate or whatnot; but you’re still queer.

Wrong. There is not one shred of evidence that homosexuality is a genetic orientation.

It is an addiction combined with arrested development and gender brokenness.

An alcoholic is always an alcoholic even after they choose to restore their lives and minds and live the rest of their lives without alcohol. Homosexuality is like any addiction, yes the addictive choices the homosexual makes have life long consequences.

Just like the millions of drug addicts and alcoholics who’s lives have been transformed by the 12-Step programs, so is a homosexual’s life saved, changed and restored to dignity through reparative therapy, group therapy and religious fellowship.

The proof is in the countless men and women who have been totally freed from homosexual addiction to restore their natural functions as father and mother and who are raising the children they created through natural god ordained heterosexual sex.

If an alcoholic, drug addict or sex addict/homosexual has a “slip” it does not mean that they cannot repent and return to sanity. The conversion back to the natural self happens every day.

It is a quiet revolution but a growing one. God is good to those who have faith in Him.

It’s a combination of genetic predisposition and the environment.

“Homosexuality is like any addiction”
- Addiction to what?

“so is a homosexual’s life saved, changed and restored to dignity through reparative therapy, group therapy and religious fellowship.”
- Perhaps you should ask someone in Exodus International what the actual conversion rate is. Pretty much close to zero.

“The proof is in the countless men and women who have been totally freed from homosexual addiction to restore their natural functions as father and mother and who are raising the children they created through natural god ordained heterosexual sex.”

Can you please sight the evidence that homosexuality is a genetic predisposition? Addiction to unnatural and self destructive sex. I know first hand of many who have experienced 100% conversion. I am sorry you don’t.
Seeing is believing but apparently not enough for ideologues who have been brainwashed by the misinformation campaign of the homosexual mafia.

Great follow up with scientific evidence proving that homosexuality is a choice and an update on the Crystal Dixon story. I emailed her in support and received a lovely email from her. Grace under persecution.
