This stuff, relatively speaking, is no more whacked out than perpetual virginity, virgin birth, or transubstantiation stuff.
Without getting into the UFO/Bible thing, it has always confounded me that the Bible says that the descendants of Adam and Eve married individuals from the East( of Eden I imagine). But if Adam and Eve were the first people, and their children the only people after them WHO could they mate with but each other?
I read Erich Von Daniken when I was in fifth grade. (He had at least four books, and inspired knock-offs). His work is dishonest and silly if read critically. (In one video, he showed these ancient discs with grooves in them, and had an expert say they could have held magnetic charges and been played like records. Shades of the Flintstones!)
Eventually, I was a network administrator at a New England liberal arts college, and for some reason, a student admitted to me that his uncle was Erich Von Daniken! I impulsively stated, “That guys a nut!” “Yes, but a very rich nut!” was his response.
Well, yeah, maybe, but at least Dawkins doesn't have to admit God then....
Where did Cain get his wife?
I'd tell you if I were Abel.
The RM admonished me for this just yesterday. One does not carry disagreements from one thread to another.
I’m always amazed that people will believe in extra-terrestials but not believe in spirtual beings like God and Angels.
“Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinquishable from magic.” - Authur C. Clark
You might have a point if that's what I were doing. I happen to believe both UFO's and some traditional religious rituals have equal footing in believability. Sue me.
And it makes the Flying Spaghetti Monster grumpy.
I’m independently wealthy so I don’t need to sue you.
I’m just trying to keep the thread in compliance with accepted and otherwise enforced rules.
The author’s article had nothing to do with any “Catholic” beliefs. If you want to address the particulars of the author’s argument, feel free to do so, but if you want to discuss Catholic doctrines and dogmas, please take that to one of those threads.

I think you are onto something. Phasers on stun!
THOSE FLYING SAUCERS
(Cy Coben, Charlie Green)
Youd better pray to the Lord when you see those flying saucers
It may be the coming of the Judgment Day
Its a sign theres no doubt of the trouble thats about
So I say my friends youd better start to pray
Theyre a terrifying sight as they fly on day and night
Its a warning that wed better mend our ways
Youd better pray to the Lord when you see those flying saucers
It may be the coming of the Judgment Day
Many people think the saucers might be someones foolish dream
Or maybe they were sent down here from Mars
If youll just stop and think youd realize just what it means
Theyre more than atom bombs or falling stars
And though the war may be through theres unrest and trouble brewin
And those flying saucers may be just a sign
That if peace doesnt come it will be the end of some
So repent today, youre running out of time
When you see a saucer fly like a comet through the sky
You should realize the price youll have to pay
Youd better pray to the Lord when you see those flying saucers
It may be the coming of the Judgment Day

The author mentions the tabernacle and ark of covenant. Last time I checked Catholics include 2/3rds of Hebrew writings as part of their canon. Be that as it may I'm entitled to use any analogy that I think most accurately fits. Please grow a thicker skin and quit bothering the moderators with triviality.

Again, you are bringing arguments that are outside the subject of this thread.
And please refrain from making personal attacks.
Are you a Pastafarian?
I must admit - I often wonder about Ezekiel. He certainly seems to have seen “beyond the veil”.
Had Jesus not called dibs on me first, I may have been.
LOL!
