This stuff, relatively speaking, is no more whacked out than perpetual virginity, virgin birth, or transubstantiation stuff.

Without getting into the UFO/Bible thing, it has always confounded me that the Bible says that the descendants of Adam and Eve married individuals from the East( of Eden I imagine). But if Adam and Eve were the first people, and their children the only people after them WHO could they mate with but each other?

I read Erich Von Daniken when I was in fifth grade. (He had at least four books, and inspired knock-offs). His work is dishonest and silly if read critically. (In one video, he showed these ancient discs with grooves in them, and had an expert say they could have held magnetic charges and been played like records. Shades of the Flintstones!)

Eventually, I was a network administrator at a New England liberal arts college, and for some reason, a student admitted to me that his uncle was Erich Von Daniken! I impulsively stated, “That guys a nut!” “Yes, but a very rich nut!” was his response.

Wouldn't that then make it intelligent design?

Well, yeah, maybe, but at least Dawkins doesn't have to admit God then....

Where did Cain get his wife?

I'd tell you if I were Abel.

The RM admonished me for this just yesterday. One does not carry disagreements from one thread to another.

I’m always amazed that people will believe in extra-terrestials but not believe in spirtual beings like God and Angels.

You might have a point if that's what I were doing. I happen to believe both UFO's and some traditional religious rituals have equal footing in believability. Sue me.

"One does not carry disagreements from one thread to another."

And it makes the Flying Spaghetti Monster grumpy.

I’m independently wealthy so I don’t need to sue you.

I’m just trying to keep the thread in compliance with accepted and otherwise enforced rules.

The author’s article had nothing to do with any “Catholic” beliefs. If you want to address the particulars of the author’s argument, feel free to do so, but if you want to discuss Catholic doctrines and dogmas, please take that to one of those threads.

There's a more 'down to earth' explanation for UFO sightings. I smuggled this evidence out of the Pentagon:

THOSE FLYING SAUCERS
(Cy Coben, Charlie Green)

You’d better pray to the Lord when you see those flying saucers
It may be the coming of the Judgment Day
It’s a sign there’s no doubt of the trouble that’s about
So I say my friends you’d better start to pray

They’re a terrifying sight as they fly on day and night
It’s a warning that we’d better mend our ways
You’d better pray to the Lord when you see those flying saucers
It may be the coming of the Judgment Day

Many people think the saucers might be someone’s foolish dream
Or maybe they were sent down here from Mars
If you’ll just stop and think you’d realize just what it means
They’re more than atom bombs or falling stars

And though the war may be through there’s unrest and trouble brewin’
And those flying saucers may be just a sign
That if peace doesn’t come it will be the end of some
So repent today, you’re running out of time

When you see a saucer fly like a comet through the sky
You should realize the price you’ll have to pay
You’d better pray to the Lord when you see those flying saucers
It may be the coming of the Judgment Day

The author mentions the tabernacle and ark of covenant. Last time I checked Catholics include 2/3rds of Hebrew writings as part of their canon. Be that as it may I'm entitled to use any analogy that I think most accurately fits. Please grow a thicker skin and quit bothering the moderators with triviality.

You said: Last time I checked Catholics include 2/3rds of Hebrew writings as part of their canon.

And: Please grow a thicker skin and quit bothering the moderators with triviality.

Again, you are bringing arguments that are outside the subject of this thread.

And please refrain from making personal attacks.

I must admit - I often wonder about Ezekiel. He certainly seems to have seen “beyond the veil”.
