Hi all, several years ago those of you who were around FR might remember a band of young rocker brothers who did a song "Hateful Lies" that skeweed Michael Moore. Well, the band is still around, and has just released a music video for its new song "Westboro", inspired by the lunacy of the WBC. We thought some of you might be interested, if so the video can be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PD0oSIyBUBQ.
If you like their music video, let them know please, they have a myspace at http://www.myspace.com/attilahuns.
FYI, here are the lyrics:
Westboro, words and music by Andrew O'Donnell
Why would a man want to be in contempt
of his brothers still searching for enlightment
for all the corruption our bodies have made
our souls will remain the same
From cradle to grave we are all subject to
a power that evaluates what we do
the absolute power of judgement corrupts
your ending will be abrupt
(chorus)
The price you ignore, the secrets you keep
The pain that you sow is the pain that we reap
Requiem
An eye for an eye, so pull out our teeth
so blind both our eyes and sing us to sleep
Maybe one day blood will rain from the air
and the impact on earth will leave us in despair
when the bodies are swept out and washed to the shore
the judgement won't be yours
Keep walking to the darkness, distracted by the light
keep walking towards destruction and tread the deep
so blind both our eyes and sing us to sleep
I think the WBC deserves a little more vinegar.
I think as the Mamas and the Papas put it once:
“But if I really say it, the radio won’t play it
Unless I lay it between the lines! “
