Please tell me if I understand what is taught here:

God is gracious and saves us, we have no choice in the matter.

After we are saved we praise the Lord and do good works.
This is because we were saved.

tranks,
fred

All you have to understand is what your first prophet told you:

...they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: "they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof."
In short, there is nothing in the Five Solas that an LDS should believe, because it is "all wrong" and "an abomination" created by men who were "all corrupt".

Too often the 5 Solas are looked at as stand alones.

It is important to understand each point, but it is also important to understand the sum:

We are saved by by Grace Alone, through Faith Alone, in Christ Alone as taught in Scripture Alone and to God Alone Goes The Glory.

The basics are this... God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life.

God the Father, gave his only Son, Jesus, to die on the cross so that in this one sacrifice all the sins of the ones who believe in him will be washed away, to be remembered no more. When one comes to faith in Jesus, Jesus gives that person the Holy Spirit to help him and guide him through this life, sanctifying him until death. Then that man will never see death again, he will be in the presence of God the Father forever.
