I’m amazed to see Nestorian heresies revived in this thread.

I'm not ... I've seen it over and over on this forum.

And note that, once again, the thread has devolved into debating some ancient heresy, instead of commenting on the wonderful saving power of Our Lord Jesus Christ, manifested in this priest's life.

But he's Catholic, so the wonderful saving power of Our Lord Jesus Christ, manifested in this priest's life is what must be obscured and demeaned and ridiculed. That's the point!

It's really simple:

Postulate (which after all if just Latin for demand) that the Catholics are wrong. All data to the contrary will then be seen to need either outright denial or further interpretation in order to be admissible.

Under tis method, the guy was not not saved, he just slipped into an especially pernicious delusion. His amendment of life, his charity, his faith, all these are bogus, tools of the Evil One to deceive, if it were possible, even the elect.

It is simply not conceivable that we Catholics are not wrong. All else follows.

And in particular, the perseverative repetition of tired arguments and mischaracterizations, which may appear to be useless, is in fact done not only for the lurkers, as some have openly said, but also in the hopes that the water torture approach to conversion will finally destroy the opposition and save his soul.

Nuthin' but LOVE for you, baby.
