But he's Catholic, so the wonderful saving power of Our Lord Jesus Christ, manifested in this priest's life is what must be obscured and demeaned and ridiculed. That's the point!

So, back to the point:

Instantly, Calloway had lost his craving for all his vices -- from impure thoughts about women to cigarettes. There was no more desire to do anything he had been doing! "God had simply changed me, and it was unbelievable," he says. "Christ just overwhelmed me with His love.

This is conversion. Calling. It is a total, undeserved gift of Grace which, praise God, he accepted. It is a sign of hope;no sinner, no matter how abjectly awful, is beyond God's reach.

Luke 15:

3Then Jesus told them this parable: 4"Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, 'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.' 7I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
