Let me guess: strut into Church smug in the delusion that I am "elect." thanks for that. It serves as additional proof that Catholics just don't get it.
It's more like slither into to church and be "Have mercy on me, a sinner."
A bit different than the Romanesque: I'll do my part [translation: my own works] and Jesus does his and everything is just honky dory!

Ah!
So now you understand what it is like when someone props up a hysterically broad straw version of your faith and then shoots it down.
I think you’ve learned something today. I hope so.

After so many of these discussions, I just don't get what looks to be a resolute stubborness on the part of RCs in maintaining it is okay to kneel to and venerate and adore and very nearly worship a cement statue of a dead person when Jesus Christ is supposedly within them and guiding them and teaching them and leading them in all righteousness to God alone.
The RCC puts so many distractions between Christ and His sheep that one would think its playing for the opposing team.
"For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God." -- 1 Corinthians 1:17-18
