There is no mention of a Trinity in the scriptures.

This is a tricky statement. Is Chris saying that since the *word* "Trinity" doesn't appear in Scripture, this invalidates the concept? Or, that the concept of the Trinity doesn't appear in Scripture?

For all those who say “the word Trinity doesn’t appear in Scripture, therefore it’s false”, my favorite retort (which completely destroys the previous lame argument) is: The word MONOTHEISM doesn’t appear in Scripture either; I guess we should throw out the belief that God is One.
