Completely incorrect. Again, let me teach you what you clearly DO NOT WANT TO UNDERSTAND. Purgatory is for some of those going to heaven. If you do not have a reasonable expectation that someone was striving with God’s grace to live a holy life, then there is no reason at all to believe they are in purgatory since there is no reason at all to believe they are going to heaven. This is so easy to understand that I am surprised that I have had to explain this more than once in this thread.

I’ve read the standard RCC defense of this fable (one version can be found here - http://www.catholic.com/library/Purgatory.asp ) and it appears to be nothing but conjecture based on that which is not said. Works tested, saved but suffering loss by fire refer to the judgment where at all men’s works are judged and those who do not have their names in the Lamb’s Book of Life will be cast in to the Lake of Fire for eternity. Deeds of the flesh, including suffering for sin, cannot earn God’s favor or pay for entrance to heaven.
