"At that time Jesus said to the multitudes of the Jews: 'Which of you shall convince me of sin? If I say the truth to you, why do you not believe me? He that is of God, heareth the words of God. Therefore you hear them not, because you are not of God.' The Jews therefore answered, and said to him: Do not we say well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil? Jesus answered: 'I have not a devil: but I honour my Father, and you have dishonoured me. But I seek not my own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth. Amen, amen I say to you: If any man keep my word, he shall not see death for ever.' The Jews therefore said: Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest: If any man keep my word, he shall not taste death for ever. Art thou greater than our father Abraham, who is dead? and the prophets are dead. Whom dost thou make thyself? Jesus answered: 'If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father that glorifieth me, of whom you say that he is your God. And you have not known him, but I know him. And if I shall say that I know him not, I shall be like to you, a liar. But I do know him, and do keep his word. Abraham your father rejoiced that he might see my day: he saw it, and was glad.' The Jews therefore said to him: Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? Jesus said to them: 'Amen, amen I say to you, before Abraham was made, I am.' They took up stones therefore to cast at him. But Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple."

Again in today's Gospel Christ mentions that he is from God
Jn 8:31-42
Jesus said to those Jews who believed in him,
If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples,
and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
They answered him, We are descendants of Abraham
and have never been enslaved to anyone.
How can you say, You will become free?
Jesus answered them, Amen, amen, I say to you,
everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin.
A slave does not remain in a household forever,
but a son always remains.
So if the Son frees you, then you will truly be free.
I know that you are descendants of Abraham.
But you are trying to kill me,
because my word has no room among you.
I tell you what I have seen in the Fathers presence;
then do what you have heard from the Father.
They answered and said to him, Our father is Abraham.
Jesus said to them, If you were Abrahams children,
you would be doing the works of Abraham.
But now you are trying to kill me,
a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God;
Abraham did not do this.
You are doing the works of your father!
So they said to him, We were not born of fornication.
We have one Father, God.
Jesus said to them, If God were your Father, you would love me,
for I came from God and am here;
I did not come on my own, but he sent me.

Exactly. There are two errors one has to avoid: Denying the fact that Gentiles who are in the Messiah are adopted children of Israel (Dispensationalism) or claiming that the adopted children have displaced the natural-born (Supracessionism/Replacement Theology).
I have two brothers, one natural-born and one adopted. I have at various times in my life been at odds with both of them--but they are still both my brothers, neither one of them more or less than the other.
Shalom.

Well certainly they are and the Psalms are full of prophecies. In fact some of them are known as the Messianic Psalms for that very reason.

AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!
Of course . . . folks trying to twist the authentic Bible into a Rubber Bible are rarely impressed by facts.

[ Jesus Christ is God (John 8: 46-59) ]
Who IS the Judeo christian God?..
The God of the Old or New testaments is different or not?..
When asked "whom" he was (by Moses) in Ex ch 3 he basically said its none of your business..
Actually how could a three dimensional creature grasp what a multi dimensional God even is..
The only way is if that God put on(wore) a three dimensional disguise..(Jesus)..
Jesus is either whom he says he was/is/will be..
Or he isn't whom he says he was/is/will be..
If he "IS" then those rejecting him are in BIG trouble..
If he "ISN'T" then those that revere him as God are only moderately confused..
Penned up in sheep pens of their own making..
The Jews without a temple or ark of the covenent are worshipping WHAT?..
The Torah.. the Talmud?.. Well, some christians do worship the bible too..
Could be GOD doesn't have or even need a name..

The other operative phrase being, "All Israel will be saved, as it is written . . . Concerning the Good News, they are enemies for your sake. But concerning the election, they are beloved for the fathers sake. For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable."
Jews who are not yet in the Messiah are still your brothers and sisters. Treat them appropriately.

Jews who are not yet in the Messiah are still your brothers and sisters. Treat them appropriatelyI treat them as I try to treat anyone -- by preaching the truth of the Gospel to them in truth and love.

Matthew 22:36-40 - "Master (one of the Sadducees, an expert in the Law, said to Jesus), what are we to consider the Law's greatest commandment?" Jesus answered him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.'
This is the first and great commandment. And there is a second like it: You shall love your neighbour as yourself.' The whole of the Law and the Prophets depends on these two commandments."
Mark 12:28b-33 - (One of the scribes to Jesus ....) "What are we to consider the greatest commandment of all?" "The first and most important one is this," Jesus replied - 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your mind, and with all your strength.'
The second is this, 'You shall love your neighbour as yourself.' No other commandment is greater than these."

And who is my neighbor?
Luke 10:29
But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?
10:30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead
. 10:31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
10:32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
10:33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
10:34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
10:35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again , I will repay thee.
10:36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
10:37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

I agree, and I'm not making any accusations that you don't. What I'm asking is how you demonstrate that love to the Jews you know.

I tackled one of the local clergy about this. He had da NOIVE to disagree with me. Imagine!
I think the "punch line" is "Go and do thou likewise," so I think the parable says we don't HAVE neighbors, we MAKE neighbors. And if the Gospel is, ahem, catholic (that is, universal), then we have a command, a duty, to show mercy to every one.
Whaddya say?

Love is sacrifice.. Even one that loves his car, house, horse, or dog sacrifices for them.. What you love you display sacrifice for, what you do not love you will not sacrifice for.. You can say you love them/it but no sacrifice, no love..
Love is sacrifice.. displayed.. Love with no sacrifice is a secondhand emotion..
