A Catholic magazine once found that far more Italian Catholics prayed to Padre Pio than to any other icon of the faith, including the Virgin Mary or Jesus. I love St. Padre Pio, and as a Catholic will pray to Saints, but that statement is one of the more bizarre I have encountered.

Were the stigmata wounds just on the skin or did it go deeper in the hands and feet?

Can anyone explain to me why in the world these bodies should be put on display? To me, this is a sickening as that ‘educational’ display of human bodies that have been stripped of their skin and posed.

We should NOT be praying to saints, Mary or anyone or anything else besides the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. We ask these other entities to pray for us, but never pray TO them.

seems a bit grisly and not what Christianity is about.
