NEW YORK, N.Y. (Catholic League) - Yesterday, Senator John McCain said he was “very honored by Pastor John Hagee’s endorsement.”
The Republican presidential hopeful also called Hagee “the staunchest leader of our Christian evangelical movement,” citing the minister’s pro-Israel stance.
Catholic League president Bill Donohue addressed this today:
“There are plenty of staunch evangelical leaders who are pro-Israel, but are not anti-Catholic. John Hagee is not one of them. Indeed, for the past few decades, he has waged an unrelenting war against the Catholic Church.

Note: he isn’t talking about the Buddhists.
“In Hagee’s latest book, Jerusalem Countdown, he calls Hitler a Catholic who murdered Jews while the Catholic Church did nothing. ‘The sell-out of Catholicism to Hitler began not with the people but with the Vatican itself,’ he writes.
“For the record, Hitler persecuted the Catholic Church and was automatically excommunicated in 1931—two years before he assumed power—when he acted as best man at Joseph Goebbel’s Protestant wedding. Hitler even bragged about his separation from the Church.
As for doing nothing about the Holocaust, Sir Martin Gilbert reminds us that Goebbels denounced Pope Pius XII for his 1942 Christmas message criticizing the Nazis (the New York Times lauded the pope for doing so in an editorial for two years in a row).
Much to Hagee’s chagrin, Gilbert also says that Pius XII saved three quarters of the Jews in Rome, and that more Jews were saved proportionately in Catholic countries than Protestant countries. Indeed, Israeli diplomat Pinchas Lapide credited the Catholic Church with saving 860,000 Jews. No religion can match that.

If we are going to be straightforward there is plenty of that to go around.
If we were to go back in history we can sight numerous cases where the RCC persecuted other Christians. It's a long history. However, after the Reformation using the power of the state to enforce it's will came to an end.
In Germany I think the RCC never promoted or supported any of the persecutions. Rather I think it's more likely that it's interactions with the Nazis were along the lines of the political and what they could do that was in the best interest of the RCC.
The political bottom line is that the GOP is more tolerant of anti-Catholicism than antisemitism or racial slurs.
Facts are facts. Using lies and logicval fallacies is part of bigotry.
The fact is there is something within human nature that, unless regenerated by God, will always "love death."
And there are few examples of this more clear than the genocide of the Jews.

The real issue was the paganism and occultic evil that the Nazi hierarchs embraced. Thule and others. Read Hitler’s comments on religion I posted above.
Catholics love the whole Christ; fully God and fully man. Christ who called Peter Satan, who fashioned a whip of cords and kicked over the tables, who called the Pharisees liars, hypocrites and broods of vipers. Who called the pagan woman a dog and cursed the fig tree. We believe in the real Jesus, not merely an ideal Jesus.

Yes, I’ve read a great deal about Hitler’s religion, Thule, etc. If we’re looking for his “spirituality” that’s where it’s to be found.
However, he also used propaganda to bring the German populace along with him on antiSemitism. And, again, I think a greater case can be made for German Lutheranism being more useful to him than the Catholics.

I meant from the stand point that they claim to be RC's yet don't adher to their churches teachings and are not in good standing. The same could have been said of the Nazis who claimed to be RC's.

We’re still waiting for some kind of “thank you” from you for the many Catholics who fought & died for Jews in WWII.
