“DR” E ignores history and works hard at fallacious arguments to tar the Church that he despises. Very odd behavior.

If we are going to be straightforward there is plenty of that to go around.

If we were to go back in history we can sight numerous cases where the RCC persecuted other Christians. It's a long history. However, after the Reformation using the power of the state to enforce it's will came to an end.

In Germany I think the RCC never promoted or supported any of the persecutions. Rather I think it's more likely that it's interactions with the Nazis were along the lines of the political and what they could do that was in the best interest of the RCC.

The political bottom line is that the GOP is more tolerant of anti-Catholicism than antisemitism or racial slurs.
