ROMAN CATHOLICISM: A DIFFERENT GOSPEL
In their lust for unity the Emergent Church and post-evangelical Protestants are right now embracing the Roman Catholic Church as another Christian denomination. But the issue is simple: If, as taught the Church of Rome, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without the new birth in baptism then we are now in hopeless contradiction with the Gospel contained in Holy Scripture.
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. (Galatians 1:8)
Speaking The Truth In Love
Let me make this as clear as I possibly can for the Roman Catholics who may read this work in Christ from Apprising Ministries. I personally am former member of the Church of Rome and care very deeply about those, such as the majority of my own family line, who are trapped in this apostate man-made system of religion known as Roman Catholicism. I also fully realize that what I say may sound unloving and possibly even harsh. However, there is just nothing that I can do about that. By not telling the Truth we arent doing anyone a service.

All religions have some heresy in them. There really is NO such thing as a perfect church. If there were, we couldn’t be in them because WE aren’t perfect.
Your argument seems to be, clearly, quite an artificial construct, since you provide no clear Scriptural link between “genealogy” and its etymological connection with “historical associations of thought,” which was more or less what I was looking for. In any event, your exegesis is hardly “perspicuous,” and comes from you own thoughts. I do hope, though, that, in the privacy of your own conscience, where you don’t have to publicly answer to anyone here, you will consider the very important implications of the basic issue I raised. For now, though, it’s clear that pursuing the matter further with you will be pointless — and very likely will push up against Titus 3:10-11, too! ;-) — so I wish you a pleasant evening.
What about the wailing and gnashing of teeth? That doesn’t sound like limbo to me. Limbo doesn’t sound too scriptural either, Claud.
Hey, what happened to the First Amendment, fatima? If you can’t take the heat, stay out of the kitchen.
Where does it say that IN SCRIPTURE, Claud?
Amen.
You have said it so much better than I did.
Well, I was a Methodist for about 35 years and never did learn how I could be saved until a Baptist preacher told me. I’m not sure WHAT they’re teaching sometimes. I did look through a new Methodist hymnbook to find a song to sing at a funeral service, and could hardly find any good rousing hymn that I even recognized!
Babies are innocent. They have no knowledge of sin or right and wrong. Of course your baby is in heaven. Would our God send an infant to hell or limbo because they’re not baptized? Of course not, Claud.
Nice post, fatima. Thank you.
Martin Luther wanted to be reconciled with the Roman Catholic Church to the day he died.. It was those that followed him that started Lutherism... or a "church"..
Martin Luther was like most of us, he wasnt too smart..
He probably would have been a democrat..
It’s called the First Amendment. And, if we don’t make it personal, anything can go.
Amen. Great verse.
Yes, Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Doesn’t really say the baby was, although in John’s case, God could have done that.
Call it what you will al. I’m neither sanctimonious or self-righteous or any of the other things you could call me. I’m really sincere about it. Sorry.
IMHO, baptism needs to be followed by bringing the child up in the nurture and the admonitions of the Lord. If this doesn’t happen, how can the child be filled with the HS? The child will probably not grow up to know God so the Spirit of God doesn’t dwell in him or her. A baby doesn’t know anything about God and if parents don’t teach this child, or bring him/her to church, then what?
It’s obedience and a commandment of God’s, to believe AND be baptized.
I do believe if God intends for you to be one of his it will happen, some roads are rougher than others. Also, we are told to preach The Gospel to all nations.
I do follow your point though. It is much better for a child to grow up in a Christian church, but that does not guarantee that child will be a Christian even if they were baptized as an infant. That child could easily grow up, stay in the same church all their life and never truly believe The Gospel.
Note what He commands us to do.
LOL!
If you think Luther would have been a Dem, then you have never read him.
Amen
