Good News Magazine? I guess it doesn't get any better than this?

The return of Christ and the establishment of his kingdom IS good news indeed and it doesn't get much better than that. :-)

It’s a shame you posted such a great article on a Friday night! I’d love to discuss but after a long week, I’m just tired. There are so many indications of the Lord’s return.

There is Daniel sealing up the book until the end of times, significant.

There is God made the earth in 7 days, a day is like a thousand years. The old testament lasted 4000 years when in Hosea, 6:2, God said in 2 days I will revive you (speaking of Isreal), in 3 days I will restore you. Israel was restored in either 1947 or so or after the 8 days war in 1968 but in either case, restored in this century.

So 4 days (or 4 thousand years) and add 3 days (the time Jesus was in the earth before being brought to be with the Father) and now 3000 years since that happened, so a total of 7 days or 7 thousand years (remember a day is like a thousand years). For some reason, God likes 7.

And then of course, there’s the Mayan calendar that went for a thousand or better years after their demise, it ends 2012.

This probably all sounds kooky because I’m not up to discussing tonight. Utlimately, yes, I think it’s close.

Look for a 7 year peace agreement between Israel and Palestine and then for 2 witnesses to be killed and seen the world over. At the time this was written, no one could imagine how they could be seen the world over but with television, it will happen. Also there was the verse where when Jesus came back, the entire world would see. Only with our technology of today, can that happen.

Have at it, but I do think the time is near.

I am glad you are ready. I am forever worried that I am not ready and acceptable for the coming. Its one test I don’t think I will ever have studied and acted enough for.

So why did the United Church of God take Herbert W. Armstrong's name off of the books in the links (I could find his name nowhere, but I certainly recognize his speil). And who did the editing (Joseph Tkach, Sr. perhaps?) It's easy to spot the revisions in the .pdf versions at the website, and they didn't even bother changing the American flag/British flag cover of the 60s edition of "The United States and Britan In Bible Prophecy" (which dates to at least 1948). The Armstrong original Worldwide Church of God materials are available today from the Philadelphia Church of God with Armstrong's name still on it and I presume his copyrights still intact.

I'm not trying to start a row, I have no dog in the fight and Armstrong died in '86 (not to be confused with his renegade son Garner Ted, but that's another story). I've followed the schisms in Armstrong's WWCOG for over forty years - call it an amusing hobby, but I've never come arcoss this outpost of Armstrongism. Is the United Church of God comprised of followers of Tkachism and haters of Flurry's Philadelphia group who carry on the HWA banner or is this a Garner Ted offshoot?

I did look on the "About" page at the UCOG site and saw that the church "began as a formal assembly in 1995" but there's not much to that breif "History". I'm just interested in who's behind recycling H.W. Armstrong's teachings without mentioning him. Who are you folks? I hope you can answer, but I won't get my hopes up.

It’s terrible news for those that will not believe of course.

Christ has never left us

and His kingdom was established long ago.

He reigns and sits upon the throne of David and we have been translated into that kingdom.
