The whole idea behind plural wives was to procreate and provide bodies of flesh and bone to the wandering spirit children of the Heavenly Father and his multiple wives.

Now if these Missionaries are bringing back a bunch of ugly women from their missions to give to the Brethren, well... they aren't really "procreation material" are they?
