Childish behavior |

They're called the "Lost Boys," the teenagers kicked out of their homes and communities by leaders of the polygamist Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to ensure there's an ample supply of single, young women who will one day become plural wives. Representative Lorie Fowlke (R-Orem), is running a bill to make this abandonment a felony.
"Estimates are that we've had more than 1,000 children - primarily in southern Utah - thrown out of their homes," Fowlke says. "What we were trying to do with this bill is criminalize this behavior and send a message to this community that they can't just throw away their children."
H.B. 23 adds child abandonment to the definition of child abuse, and makes it a felony crime. It also adds an enhancement if a parent or organization benefits from the child's abandonment to further an illegal enterprise, such as polygamy. This is the case with the FLDS church, says Roger Hoole, a lawyer who represents some of the displaced young men and sits on the board for the Utah Association for Justice. He says the church benefits from kicking out young men who would compete for plural wives. This, he says, has devastating consequences.
"There's a huge impact that's coming, like a tsunami, that's going to hit the state of Utah, when these boys get a little older and realize what has happened to them and get angry," Hoole says. "There's a real problem here."
Fowlke's bill gained unanimous support in a Senate committee this morning, and now heads to the full Senate for consideration.
BTTT....good work, Zakeet.
In my opinion, the biggest FRAUD of the mormon church
is not listed...
It is the TOTAL FAILURE to teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ,
so that people can have eternal life in the presence of God.
To accomplish this, and substitute a gospel of earthly works,
is a travesty and subverts what Christ did on the cross. It is
without a doubt the biggest fraud in history.
All the other things you’ve listed were done to support
this fraud.
best,
ampu
Thanks.
"...but this is Facsimile 1, you can see Abraham on the lion couch."
But...
Egyptologists have identified the character on the lion couch as Orisis (not Abraham).
How do you deal with this contradiction?
POW!
With so many excellent examples to choose from (any of which denounces Joseph Smith's credibility as a prophet)...I am going to have to think on which one is the biggest.
You know that. I find your attempt to try and reverse the argument and play coy amusing - but sorely lacking.
I can see why you become out of control. You are mimicking the founder of your cult.
God Almighty was his "right hand man?"
No.
Smith is in Hell now.
Actually, I think this is one of Smith's predictions that came true.
This same guy who claimed that God was his right-hand man...also claimed to translate the Kinderhook plates!
“I want to be a dentist.”
The biggest fraud is the sanctimony; the big pretenders all so full of themselves. Mark Hoffman played these guys like a fiddle and they fell for it hook line and sinker.
At the time, my thoughts were: Why didn’t God tell them?
That was the icing on the cake for me.
What's up, OMm...In your last post on this subject, you inferred that Helen Mar Kimball's marriage to Joseph Smith was contrived by the mind of an anti-Mormon (you call them ant-Mormon's...but we prefer pro-Christian).
Now, you seem to be accepting the fact of this marriage. Why the sudden change?
Also, don't try the whole resty thing that it was a marriage in eternity...Apparently, that is what Helen Mar Kimball thought, as well, but then she wasn't allowed to attend a dance. It was then that she realized that time was also a factor in her marriage to Joseph Smith
Specifically, at about the 6 minute mark or so he speaks to the folly that a man thinks he can dictate to God the Almighty.
Smith thought he could.
He is not in a good place right now.
Since the Joseph Smith "Lectures of Faith" were distributed as "Scripture" as part of the "Book of Commandments" for generations, where are they now? Why no footnote in the D&C that these "plain & precious" things have been removed, censored & banned as "ex-Scripture" by the deceivers, the LDS Church general authorities?
Furthermore, how can you even have a category of "ex-Scriptures?"
Snort, right, post scripture (both Christian and mormon) and Smitties history, which it seems you agree with by silence (and no your witless one-liners don't count).
This kind of preaching does not come from the God of Love, for fear and doubt is not of Love!
This reveals a lot of what you are attracted too!
Put some ice on it ...
Mark Dever preaches "Sinners in the Hand of an Angry God" from Capitol Hill Baptist Church
When the original author of that Sermon ‘preached’ that—and he repeated it many times—he would just read the text to the congregation ... and the front of the church would fill with people seeking forgiveness even before he would finish!
I knew you would say that.
That preacher is humble, Biblical, and honest. He talks with a Southern accent - I don't in that I have a Canadian Upstate NY accent. I wonder if that makes any difference to you?
There is not one thing that man said that violated the Bible. The Cult of Mormonism does violate that Bible. You can pretend you are a Christian saved by Christ all you want.
Resty - it isn't working.
I am very worried about you. I mean this.
I know that many of the posts have planted doubt in your mind. What will you lose if you accept the truth that Smith was a charlatan? A lot - but you will gain so much if you accept Jesus Christ. No, you have not accepted Him. You are caught up in a false cult.
Leave it. Come into the light of Jesus.
It is the most important decision you will ever make.
Not interested!
