Washington DC, Feb 20, 2008 / 07:16 pm (CNA).- Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama has been endorsed by Frances Kissling, the former president of the pro-abortion group Catholics for a Free Choice.
In an article written for the Huffington Post, Kissling defended her endorsement of Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton saying that his presidency would finish the social transformation begun by the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion nationwide.
"While I believe in the nitty gritty of a day-to-day legislative agenda, there will be little difference between Clinton and Obama, I am convinced that in the larger struggle to complete the social transformation promised by Roe, Obama's instincts and values will bring us closer to that transformation," Kissling said.
Kissling broke ranks with other feminists who favor abortion rights but have endorsed New York Senator Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination. She said that both candidates would appoint Supreme Court justices who favor Roe v. Wade, overturn the Mexico City policy that forbids funding for non-governmental organizations that also perform abortions, and restore funding to the United Nations Population Fund, which lost US funding after its co-operation with coerced abortions in China was exposed.
Kissling said that Clinton had more than once failed the movement for abortion rights, such as when Senator Clinton did not include abortion coverage in her 1994 health care reform plan. She also disliked Clintons support for laws permitting objecting health professionals to refuse to provide services they consider immoral. Kissling wanted to know whether her present universal health care program will give religious organizations the right to refuse to provide services they consider 'immoral' - emergency contraception, voluntary sterilization, condoms to prevent HIV, and assisted reproduction come to mind.
Senator Obama, Kissling thought, would transform American culture and solidify support for legalized abortion.
"It is no longer about 'winning, the culture war. It is about completing the social transformation that Roe began but did not solidify," Kissling concluded. "That task, I believe, will best be accomplished by a president who sees her or his role as calling us to greatness ... I think Barack Obama is the person who can do that," she said.
This man (Obama) is of an evil nature that is beyond anything we have ever seen.
the Kissling of Death, I’d say.
I think this bozo's greatest danger is that he seems to be putting himself at the disposal of the wicked -- a soul sold, as it were. Yeah, give a pawned soul power and a lot of people will suffer.
He's such an icon now, and tragedy that befalls his campaign will be called racism, and race relations won't be the same again. As a "black" man, he can do no wrong.
A one man civil war.
These people have the audacity to call themselves Catholic!
In reality they serve the devil!

He wants to be the leader of the wicked by his own choice!
NOW theres a bit of infamy.. Vernon Jordan..
Almost as nasty as the Sandy Bergular saga..
Might Hillary stoop as low as to claim to have had an abortion? “OK, Obama, top this,” she muttered as she let fly with a tiffany lamp at the bedroom wall.
They both lose when it comes to eternal life. (Obama and Clinton)

Poor Ms. Kissling. She’s gotten free will mixed up with free choice. We all have free will, no choice is free. Each one has consequences, and some more significant than others.
Poor Ms Quisling
So why are they still considered Catholics? yeesh!
Their Not!
Statement issued by the National Council of Catholic Bishopsauthoritatively denying that Catholics for a Free Choice merit any recognition or support as a Catholic organization.
May 10, 2000
Galveston-Houston Bishop Joseph A. Fiorenza, president of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops/U. S. Catholic Conference, issued the following statement on the status of the organization “Catholics for a Free Choice”:
For a number of years, a group calling itself Catholics for a Free Choice (CFFC), has been publicly supporting abortion while claiming it speaks as an authentic Catholic voice. That claim is false. In fact, the group’s activity is directed to rejection and distortion of Catholic teaching about the respect and protection due to defenseless unborn human life.
On a number of occasions the National Conference of Catholic Bishops (NCCB) has stated publicly that CFFC is not a Catholic organization, does not speak for the Catholic Church, and in fact promotes positions contrary to the teaching of the Church as articulated by the Holy See and the NCCB.
CFFC is, practically speaking, an arm of the abortion lobby in the United States and throughout the world. It is an advocacy group dedicated to supporting abortion. It is funded by a number of powerful and wealthy private foundations, mostly American, to promote abortion as a method of population control. This position is contrary to existing United Nations policy and the laws and policies of most nations of the world.
In its latest campaign, CFFC has undertaken a concentrated public relations effort to end the official presence and silence the moral voice of the Holy See at the United Nations as a Permanent Observer. The public relations effort has ridiculed the Holy See in language reminiscent of other episodes of anti-Catholic bigotry that the Catholic Church has endured in the past.
As the Catholic Bishops of the United States have stated for many years, the use of the name Catholic as a platform for supporting the taking of innocent human life and ridiculing the Church is offensive not only to Catholics, but to all who expect honesty and forthrightness in public discourse. We state once again with the strongest emphasis: “Because of its opposition to the human rights of some of the most defenseless members of the human race, and because its purposes and activities deliberately contradict essential teachings of the Catholic faith,... Catholics for a Free Choice merits no recognition or support as a Catholic organization” (Administrative Committee, National Conference of Catholic Bishops, 1993).
