Damned if we do, damned if we don’t. Mitt isn’t running for President and we all highly doubt McCain will choose him for a running mate. Unless you all are getting a head start for the 2012 presidential campaign. No matter what we do or say, it isn’t right in many of your eyes. Well, that is OK. Ultimately, it is Jesus Christ who will determine who His shepherds were in this life.

From the February 21, 2008 edition of the Salt Lake Tribune:

Before Utah Mormons understandably get their noses too far out of joint because more than 50 percent of Americans polled are "very uncomfortable" about having a Mormon as president, perhaps they might walk a mile in another person's moccasins before the traditional paranoia sets in ("Playing with fire: Romney campaign exposed anti-Mormonism," Our View, Feb. 12).

What if a white, male Utahn declared his candidacy for governor, and with otherwise impeccable credentials he also revealed that he is an avowed polygamist, although with only one wife? How would his candidacy fare with the majority of Utahns? Would Mormons be put off, even as he declared that his religion would have no influence on decisions he might make in governing the state? Could he win the office?
