I voted for Romney, if that makes any difference to you. I wasted the vote though and that saddens me.

I think what Christians want here is Mormons to stop saying they’re Christians in the traditional sense. You are so far from us theologically that saying Mormons are Christians just isn’t true. You DO have your own religion. Just don’t tell us it’s a Christian religion. Mxxx

And never will again. And I will assume that you only post false doctrine.

I happened to read what godzilla posted to you concerning Hippolytus and have determined that you have taken Hippolytus' comments OUT OF CONTEXT to erroneously back up your own preconceived (and erroneous) ideas.

this has been a common tactic with du since few have the time to wade through the more difficult reading of the ECFs to cut through the fluff (however, I've grown to enjoy reading them, though it takes a little time to get used to the style). du also likes to do the same on other Catholic Encyclopedic entries.

So it appears.

As far as reading Hippolytus.......lolol! I began to try...but decided it'll have to wait until my brain feels like processing 'another language.' It reminded me of when I had to take certain English classes in college and had to read original works of Chaucer and Shakespeare....it was slow and difficult to go at first, but then it becomes easier and then, enjoyable. I'd never heard of this Hippolytus before and appreciated your earlier commentary on his thoughts and the full citations you provided so that I could, indeed, understand with the context he wrote, what Hippolytus meant.

I'd also appreciate your pinging me to any future commentary concerning Hippolytus as I think it was most informative and, at some point in time, I would like to read his writings (but as I said, I just don't have the time right now to "read through the fluff" to get to the meaning and intent.

The Gideon Bible is a translation? I thought it was a KJV.

She doesn't know what she's talking about (I don't either, but I don't write for a major news magazine).

The current Gideon Bible is a "New King James Version" -- apparently a modernized King James -- but there is no "Gideon translation."

....then there are the type of statements someone makes where s/he outs himself as someone who not only presumes to know someone's heart, as if s/he were god, but sits in glee thinking about the punishments s/he feels others deserve. I know that person is not me. But it sure does sound like some others.

That quote applies to those who presume to sit in judgment on individuals who post on these threads, as opposed to those who use the Scriptures, as God commands, to discern from true v. false prophets, false teachers, false religions, and false doctrine. There is a difference; it’s apparent from particular statements from particular people that they just don’t understand that difference.

Well, they don’t seem to like the truth at all. Poor little lying mainstreamers only know how to cry abuse. Poor babies.

I forgive them.

Poor little lying mainstreamers only know how to cry abuse.

DU

At 8 years old I didnt know about any of the early learned men who discussed the Trinity...and coined the term...

I just knew that God the Father was God the Son and also God the Holy Ghost..

If I had no trouble at age 8 believing that what is impossible with man is possible with God...

How can you, who appear to be light years more informed in spiritual things at your greater age than I during my former tender years, now claim ignorance ???
