And not having received their first Temple Recommend or Sacred Undergarments, they're also often (if not completely) out of the loop when it comes to knowing or believing the more controversial doctrines and histories of the LDS church. I imagine some of these young men are startled later in life, when they match up their present learning with things passed off as "anti-Mormon" claims they heard back when they were missionaries.
