Archbishop wants St. Stan priest defrocked

ST. LOUIS — Archbishop Raymond Burke has begun the process of defrocking the pastor at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church.

Rev. Marek Bozek, 32 and a native of Poland, said Monday that he received a letter from Burke last week, informing him that he should present himself before the archbishop for "canonical admonition."

In the letter, Burke said he's begun the process of laicization, or being "dismissed from the clerical state," for Bozek. The letter cited Bozek's participation in schism at the church that has been locked in a battle with the archdiocese over control of its assets and his public support for, and participation in, an ordination ceremony of two Catholic women last year.

Bozek was one of the clerical celebrants at a ceremony at Central Reform Congregation in the Central West End in November when two women were ordained as priests of an organization called Roman Catholic Womenpriests.

The two women who were ordained received letters from Burke before their ordinations stating that if they went through with the ordination, they would be automatically excommunicated. The Roman Catholic church does not ordain women as priests.

From what I can tell, he would do well to dissolve the parish as well.

It seems like a hotbed of apostasy and schism.

Perhaps the best way to do that would be to replace Bozek with an FSSP priest and make it into a Latin Mass community parish.

That would exorcize the demons.

Oh, apparently the parish board is appaealing to the Vatican.

The Archbishop's hands are tied for the time being it would seem.

The parish has presented itself in the sympathetic media as merely an ethnic Polish church that does not want to be closed and lose its historical identity. But THIS quote lets the cat out of the bag, so to speak . . .

"The letter cited Bozek's participation in schism at the church that has been locked in a battle with the archdiocese over control of its assets and his public support for, and participation in, an ordination ceremony of two Catholic women last year."

Once again, disobedience goes hand in hand with modernism and apostacy.

I must be a tad dyslexic this morning because at first glance, I read that headline as “Archbishop wants Satan priest defrocked”. But now that I think about it...my first read wasn’t as wrong as I first thought.

"My definition of compromise is that I move two steps and he move two steps and we meet in the middle," Bozek said. "But his [Archbishop Burke's] definition is that I move four steps and he stands immovable like a rock.""

Got that right, Mister Bozek.

Burke will get lots and lots of criticism for this, so he could probably use some attaboys. I'm sending a fan letter right now:

They were also reported to have a bar in the church basement.

I like wideawake’s idea.

I also think it is only a matter of time before Fr. Bozek is revealed 1) to be a homosexual, or 2) marrying one of his parishoners (and possibly 3. both of the above). Just my guess.

LOL! At least they would be dancing the polka, and not just groveling and groaning around . . . .

I like the Latin Mass idea best.

Burke said he's begun the process of laicization, or being "dismissed from the clerical state," for Bozek.

Laicization and dismissal are two different things.
