NORFOLK, Va. Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson predicted Wednesday that 2008 will be a year of violence worldwide and a recession in the United States, followed by a major stock-market crash by 2010.
Sharing what he believes God has told him about the year ahead is an annual tradition for Robertson.
On Wednesday's "700 Club" broadcast, the founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network predicted that evangelism will increase and more people will seek God as the chaos develops. Robertson said, "We will see the presence of angels and we will see an intensification of miracles around the world."
Last year, Robertson predicted that a terrorist act, possibly involving a nuclear weapon, would result in mass killing in the United States. Noting that it hadn't come to pass, Robertson said, "All I can think is that somehow the people of God prayed and God in his mercy spared us."

Today I saw and heard Him during my morning commute. I can only assume that He was conversing with Pat; I only overheard a portion of the Almighty's comments:
"...for the last time, Robertson.... don't presume to put words in My mouth!!"
Then the clouds closed, like huge theatre curtains.
;-)
Actually, I can discuss Biblical matters quite well.
However, not with you.
Not now, not in the near future.
For the Bible was not written for men to rage about, as you have here in this thread.
I quoted a verse.
You claimed my perspective was “simple and narrow”.
so...the accusation is from you and therefore it is upon YOU ALONE to defend your accusation and state CLEARLY what exactly was “simple” and “narrow” about the verse that I quoted and how I applied it to my summary opinion that Pat Robertson is foolish, a bad example and harmless. You have merely thrown out accusations against EVERY OTHER CHRISTIAN in this thread, so be careful how you try and make others to be the villians, for nobody attacked you as you have done here. All the posts to you are in defense of your accusatory nature.
Until you defend your rude accusations you have no standing.
And until then you will receive no apology for me calling you an ass. For that is how you are behaving to nearly everyone in this thread.
So put up or shut up.
Since to each poster here, you claim superior knowledge in all things Bibleical...the burden is still upon YOU to...
Explain Deuteronomy 18: 21&22 in it’s proper context...according to your learned understanding.
We all patiently await your expert hermeutical exegesis...
God, or the strange guy across the alley from Pat with the antennas? |
“Noting that it hadnt come to pass, Robertson said, All I can think is that somehow the people of God prayed and God in his mercy spared us.
All I can think is that Pat is still a false prophet and buffoon.
Until you defend your rude accusations you have no standing.
Why because you declare it to be? Please don't make me laugh!
And until then you will receive no apology for me calling you an ass.
And your "Johnny made me do it..." excuse only works when you're under the age of 5.
You accused me of Biblical error based upon your self-inflated knowledge which you still refuse to defend or explain.
Which usually points ot someone who CAN’T defend their accusations...usually due to lack of knowledge.
Too bad.
Have a nice day
Pat Robertson had better take his billions out of the stock market and invest in gold.
all I hear is your braying...
buzz off loser
Discuss the issues all you want, but do NOT make it personal.
More name calling and not a single tiny bit of substance... You make my point so perfectly well.
You are an embarrassment to the party...
Not to mention the faith...
Any idiot can make a ton of hair-brained predictions, and a few are bound to come true. Enter Pat Robertson...
ROFL!!!!!!! Sam Kinison, RIP.
Second, that picture is adorable!
Let’s see if I understand this. “The people of God prayed” so he spared the nuclear weapon. But they must not have prayed hard enough, because he’s still sending a recession. Maybe we’re all just “$10.00 away” from being spared even the recession.
Hezekiah is, IMO, a perfect example that God does in fact change his mind. I’ll leave it to others as to how they reconcile Hezekiah with predestination. All I know is that He will in some cases.
That said, Pat Robertson is a nutcase for reasons other than just his bad predictions.
“I would say Pat Robertson is not a genuine prophet.”
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I predict he will make a genuine profit in 2008!
Ping for later
