My father wants “In the Garden” at his funeral, too. It’s a hugh favorite with Protestants of an earlier generation or two.

the Christmas carol "Good Christian Men, Rejoice" was re-written to "Good Christian Friends, Rejoice".

Ghastly, isn't it?

I think Christmas carols have suffered some of the worst outrages because they're so commonly used. I will be bellowing, "Born that MAN no more may die ... Born to raise the SONS of earth!" at full blast when Christmas arrives!

Steve refuses to let me correct the hymnals with a pen, even though I’ve promised to print very neatly.

LOL! I’ve done it with a pencil, but sometimes they’ve mangled the sentences so much to avoid using “he” that making corrections is hopeless!

St. Paul’s Lockport is using LSB.

I like it but, truthfully, it allows too much flexibility across the Synod (one of the intents of forming Synod was to create consistency in worship throughout Lutherandom..)
