It certainly explains a lot of what we see here. When a Mormon tells you what he believes, the fact is that you don't know what to believe. They are apparently taught to dissemble when asked specific questions about the peculiar doctrines of Mormonism. That is deception. That, in my book, is a sin.
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: (1 Peter 3:15 KJV)
In the LDS Church they are admonished to give an answer, but not to the question asked. They are admonished to give an answer to the question that they think the person should have asked. Unbelievable.
They are taught to dissemble, which is deceitful. We’ve seen numerous examples of it here at FR. Now, we will be told what bigots we are for pointing this out in the open.
