Lumen Gentium is not on the same par as The Bible, which is God’s infallible Word. It is a human document and is in clear diagreement with God’s Word, therefore it is clearly wrong on the point you bring up.

I didn't say that I agreed with LG; I most certainly do not. I was challenging jwalsh07's characterization of Catholic teachings. In his original post, he stated that Catholics teach that faith in Christ is necessary for grace. LG clearly states otherwise. jwalsh07 subsequently backed off a bit; admitting that the Church teaches that faith in Christ is not necessary for everyone. This teaching, IMHO, is the most dangerous of Catholic teachings.
