You are saying that eternal life does not begin until after you die. I will argue that is starts when you are born again.You are correct....when you are "born again" at the resurrection. As Paul puts it: [1 Corinthians 15:51-52] Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
We agree that salvation will at some point become permanent, it is a matter of when.
That's what the change is.....being reborn as an immortal spirit being.....born again....resurrected to life eternal.

Being born and being resurrected is not the same thing. I think that physical birth ,not resurrection, is a better metaphor for born again.
