Just a thought ...
I don’t care for beer, myself, but Frank Sheed strongly recommends Guinness during (ahem) ecumenical discussions.
Good point. Both are evil, was what I meant.
Is the sun over the yardarm in your time zone? Are you over 21?
I agree.
And you guys are going to hell because you don't believe in the Father.
Have fun.
But do you mean "adores a Supreme Being"? No, I only do that to three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Oooh, oooh! Can I have his?
Don’t hurt yourself, Mrs. Don-o ... we’ll run out of Guinness.
Thank youHere is one of my favorites by Paul Wilber.
uh HUH.
Are you over 21?
Emotionally and intellectually? There's been some discussion.
Chronologically, I'm way over 21, and that's just parts that hurt.
But, po' me, I'm at work. It's all I can do to engage in this mishegoss. Hauling out a cold one would be really un-cool.
I assume you, too, believe that, unless the RCC has now stopped being Trinitarian. (Which some days appears likely since the RCC denies the work of the Holy Spirit in sanctification by turning it instead into some sort of ethereal nudging and holy post-it note suggestion box rather than a complete rebirth by the will and purpose of God.)
Faith does not save. Grace saves through faith.
Get the difference?
God has chosen faith in His Son to be the means by which He bestows His grace on whom He will. That faith acknowledges that Christ has paid for every one of the sins of His sheep, once for all time.
Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." -- Ephesians 2:4-9"But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
But I'll stick with Shiner Bock, or maybe a nice dark Warsteiner or Dinkelacker.
Do you believe the Trinity is 3 persons in one? Is Mary the mother of the Father and the Holy Spirit? Or is she mother to 1/3 of the Trinity, the Son ,separate from the Father and the Spirit
How foolish your observation is
So, you and she both think you can pry Jesus out of the Trinity and believe in him alone for your salvation???
When Jesus was on earth , He was not in heaven He was HERE, He was here as the 2nd person of the Trinity made man. 100% of the 2nd person of the trinity was here. He taught that we are to believe IN HIM for our salvation, that was/is HIS role in the Trinity ..He is the Savior, not the Father and not the Holy Spirit.Have you ever read scripture? Do you understand the nature of God and the Trinity, cause it does not sound like it
Are you a modalist now?
If "faith in Christ alone" is faith in the Holy Spirit, then it would seem that Christ alone is the Holy Spirit.
The United Pentacostal Church awaits you.
Boy, this is getting easier...
"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" -- 1 Timothy 2:5
Just like there is only one God, there is only one mediator between that God and men -- Christ Jesus.
I pray God gives you ears to hear and eyes to see.
Interesting. Since it is about God’s redeeming love through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who was born without sin SPECIFICALLY for that purpose, the passage clearly refers to ALL of mankind (and womankind), in my religion. I am a Bible-believing Christian, and yes, I do believe *exactly* what the verse says—the Word of God (Jesus) says that all men and women are sinners and need saving. Not just a few scattered here and there, and no exceptions, but ALL. Moses and Elijah and Mary as well, in my beliefs. :-)
Three persons in one ... what?
The orthodox formulation is "three Divine persons in one Divine nature". That is what I believe. In fact, if you want to know what I believe about the nature of God, just read the Nicene Creed. It's all in there.
Have you ever read scripture?
Evidently, a lot more than you have.
Do you understand the nature of God and the Trinity, cause it does not sound like it
I'm not the one defending bizarre propositions like belief in Jesus without believing in his Father, you are.
I guess you didn't bother to read what I wrote. In fact, you didn't bother to read the scripture you posted, which does not contain the word "only" before "one".
