For Mitt Romney, it all started in a two-story, wood-framed house on a busy street in Pontiac, Mich. Painted beige, encircled by an asphalt lot that would hardly hold a dozen cars, the building manages to look both decrepit and picturesque, like a million other urban churches across the country. Today it houses the Unity Church of Practical Christianity, but until Romney was 10, it was the Mormon church he attended with his familyat least twice a day on Sunday, and one night a week for youth group.

Nice try though.....
And the Fundamentalist Mormons think that polygamy wasn't outlawed ever.
Who knows: perhaps even YOU will get a chance for more wives in the future.
I hear that GOD is not exactly limited in His enacting Eternal Doctrines and then removing them.
Amazing statement; coming from you!
KJV Colossians 4:16
And when this epistle is read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that ye likewise read the epistle from Laodicea.
I geuss things like this do not establish a precedent; eh?
Uh...
the latter part of the above was to be directed at your Ephesian statement.
I’ll freepmail it to you.
But why are the young women under a watchful eye from adults? What are they being protected from?
I missed it too.
You are rather nasty in your attacks. I guess the mods keep you around to play. That’s all I can figure out.
It wasn't an AH-HA! I just thought you would be kind enough to give me a civil response. And I still haven't gotten one that answers my query.
I'm sorry that is the case.
Its a matter of semantics. When young men and young women go to do baptisms for the dead in the temple, the leaders for both the young men and young women go to supervise. Usually, it is a male temple worker who does the baptisms. The temple is a sacred place and the youth leaders are there to guide the young teenagers (ages 12-18.) And when one goes through the temple to recieve their endowments for the first time, they have an escort (usually a relative and a temple worker of the same sex.) There's nothing sinister and they don't treat the women any differently than they treat the men.
I heard Ann Romney on Glenn Beck’s show this morning. Beck asked her about this article and the cover page. She said that the title should have been ‘An American’s Journey’ and that pretty soon the curiousity would die down. She said she is a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and she was very curious also. So she isn’t offended about the scrutiny.
I never said anything was sinister. I just wondered why the young women were being watched over.
Those here who are too touchy to answer a question with common decency tend to stir up trouble where there is none.
I find that tactic to be old and tired.
Hi Saundra.
I’m kinda new to all this Mormon doctrine, so could you please help me out some? Thanks in advance.
You said yesterday:
“One day I found out that Mormons believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins.”
I’ve read some Mormon literature and it said that Jesus had a prior existence as a spirit being on another planet, and was created by the Mormon god through sex with one of his cellestial wives.
Is that true or not?
Thank you for your response.
You’ve got freepmail.
I have no problem with it being discussed either, although I don't think it is a Political issue. I think all candidates including the revered Fred Thompson are fair game for an open discussion. That being said, I prefer Mitt Romney over Fred Thompson, and neither one of their religions have anything to do with it.
I know Fred Thompson has had more than one wife, at least one more than Mitt Romney
“I know Fred Thompson has had more than one wife, at least one more than Mitt Romney.”
Not at the same time. Fred Thompson is not a polygamist like Joseph Smith and the early Mormons and fundamentalist Mormons are.
