Doing more digging, I am going to guess that this group has significantly less than 1,000 people who attend their services weekly.
When was the last time Newsweek gave a glowing profile - basically an advertisement - to such a tiny sect?
It does seem - like many "Old Catholic" offshoots in the US - to be run mostly as a tax dodge.

And if Newsweek is going to do stories on fringe religions, why not do it on one that is interesting, rather than simply inflammatory? I bought a Hillary Clinton voodoo doll the last time I was down in New Orleans, and I have been saving it for the right moment. It would be useful to know ahead of time whether the thing is actually going to work during the first presidential debate.
