) when people go up for Communion just stay in your seat and let everybody go around you. Not everyone goes to Communion anyway, so no one will think it odd...

...or, if he wishes to be blessed, he may accompany the faithful, but upon reaching the priest, simply cross his arms, signalling he can’t receive the Body and Blood, but may receive a holy blessing...

Kidman was married in the Catholic Church on June 25, 2006 to Keith Urban.

Kidman's marriage to Cruise was not recognized by the Church.

One of the more unsettling things with Kidman is that she is letting her children be raised in brainwashing, Scientology cult.

No. The Catholic Church correctly sees marriage as a social/legal institution. Whether you are legally married and whether your children are legitimate are matters for the state. The Church deals with the SACRAMENT of marriage. Annulments recognize that no sacrament took place, they don’t deal with secular legalities.

If only they knew....
His Dark Materials is not atheistic, it’s actually Satanic. And I’m not using that in a pejorative manner either, its mythology closely matches that of the Church of Satan.
The main enemy in the series is not the church, but God himself, and you learn in the second book that Satan was a good angel who tried to stop God at the beginning of time.

Thank you for the post and ping! Have you read the books?

Yes, I've read the first two books, and the first three chapters of the third one. (I didn't put it aside in disgust or anything, I just started it as finals for the Summer semester drew near and never managed to pick it up again.) Here's a direct quote from Philip Pullman's introduce to Paradise Lost. "...about a... aging country squire two hundred years ago or more, sitting by the fireside listening to Paradise Lost being read aloud. He's never read it himself; he doesn't know the story at all... Suddenly he bangs the arm of his chair, and exclaims 'By God! I know not what the outcome may be, but this Lucifer is a damned fine fellow, and I hope he may win!' Which are my sentiments exactly." I'm actually an atheist myself, and Pullman and his work bother me because he appears to believe in God, but just decided to side with the Other Guy. (as Penn Jillete so recently put it) I know how this looks, so I suggest you all go and take a look for yourselves, I am not quoting him out or context or distorting information: he really is that blatant. Which is why I could not believe that they made The Golden Compass into a movie. I assume the studio heads never read the other two books. (BTW, the Paradise Lost edition's ISBN is 978-0192806192. Sadly the "search inside this book" feature for the book is disabled at Amazon.)
