GOD IS IN CONTROL!
This is a sermon from a guest speaker at our Church last Sunday. It is a very powerful sermon that will keep your attention. It is both entertaining and challenging.
Go to the LINK and then click on the link for "Previous Study - 2007-08-12".
This will open a player window. Pick a player and the appropriate internet speed and when the player starts you can use the pull down menu and go directly to the "MESSAGE".
However you might want to listen to the worship group to get you in the mood for the sermon. They are (IMHO) AWESOME!
I'd appreciate any feedback you have on this sermon.

If you are not one of the listless, maybe you could ping those on your list.
Thank you so much for the ping, dear brother in Christ!
Thank you for the link and post. Will listen soon.
Tell this to Al Gore, The greenies don’t think God has anything to do with their planet.
Good study. We trust that God indeed is in control and nothing is too difficult for Him.
Btw your church’s webteam did a great job with the site!

Sounds like the title to a song ;o)
Alright, I watched it and was sort of impressed, especially since it was in an undecided Arminian church in the tradition of Calvin. Now, here’s the deal. I will trade you Ethyl, our organist (remember, she is a vintage organist, maybe a “hall of famer”) who is able to transition an upbeat worship chorus into a solemn dirge just by turning on the ancient instrument, straight up for the white haired guitar player and the two cute backup singers in the front row.
This offer is good only until 7:00 A.M. today.
LOLOL!
Darn, I missed the deadline. I guess we'll just have to keep our white haired guitar player and the cute backup singers.
But hey, how about we trade our Hammond C-3 for your ancient pipe organ. With the Hammond, Ethyl might be able to keep up with the worship band. Pipe organs have as much as a quarter second delay between the time you hit the key and the time the sound comes out of the pipe. This could account for Ethyl's habit of turning the upbeat praise music into funeral dirges. The delay slows down the band and pretty soon everyone is dragging behind the beat. The Hammond could save your worship band and you can still keep Ethyl.
This offer will remain open until Noon today.
Glad you enjoyed it. I know I did. Apparently the speaker is the pastor of a large church in the Chicago area. Here is a LINK to his church.
BTW our website has won some honors for best ministry website.
Here’s my favorite part.... ?
?
“Pipe organs have as much as a quarter second delay between the time you hit the key and the time the sound comes out of the pipe.”
If you throw in the 60 second delay that it takes Ethyl to process the command to hit the right keys with the right fingers including the proper stops for the tune, you can better appreciate her unique ability. The Hammond C-3 will cause a whole new theological controversy surrounding whether the ancient organ is there to fulfill Ethyl’s purpose in life. It’s akin to the idea that Ethyl and the organ are “angels” to teach us patience in longsuffering, and to train us under extreme conditions to stay awake during worship.
We do have a flugelhorn player that is available for trade but do to his specialty it will have to include the white haired guitar player, the two cute back up singers (so that there is no question, they are the female ones) in the front row and the drummer.
Was that noon east coast time or west coast?
The last words he spoke before the message was cut off. I might be dense & part three was there somewhere, but I couldn’t find it.
And the drummer? How about just the drummer. BTW the cute backup singers are computer generated. We'll include a copy of the software program provided that the flugelhorn and the flugelhorn player both come with a hardshell case.
Go to "Middle of Message" and keep going from there.
Thanks for the additional link. Typically I listen to James MacDonald’s sermon series on OnePlace.com. Chuck Swindoll is also on-line. The only issue I have with OnePlace is that the sermons are broken down into smaller segments instead of the entire sermon on one link. Maybe it caters to those who can’t sit still and listen long:-)
I can see why your church’s website has won awards. Ours is under reconstruction and I look forward to seeing what our talent crew creates.
That's what's displayed for me too. I've watched the "Middle of Message" three times & it cut off at the same place every time. I used the fastest Windows Media Player connection & haven't installed Real Player since my hard drive went kaput.
